Fantastic stay. I would highly recommend. The transfers to and from the airport were on time and very well organised, comfortable cars with air conditioning. It is just over a 3 hour drive from Cebu airport, but we were able to stop for a comfort break and refreshments. My friend and I were greeted on arrival by very helpful and friendly staff, they took our luggage to the room and gave us a briefing on meal and diving times. The resort was immaculately clean and so picturesque. Rooms were fairly small but very comfortable and clean and the resort was lovely and quiet. Water was provided in the rooms in a refillable bottle. Staff made a point of remembering your name and greeted you by it every day which really added a personal touch. The food was fresh and delicious and if there was anything not to your taste they would happily cook you something different (which they often did for me as I am fussy). The dive centre was fantastic, we were well briefed, the staff helped to get your equipment ready and carried it on to the boat for you. They couldn’t do enough for you! The boat is small but again comfortable and fresh fruit, tea, coffee and water were provided for the surface interval and there was a maximum of 4 people to one guide but often less. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to point out things of interest. Special thanks to Jamie the manager who kept us entertained with stories and ensured the excellent running of the dive centre, special thanks to the guides Jason, Manuel and Mavar who all went the extra mile to make the diving extra special. Also special thanks to Concepcion who arranged a trip for me to see the whale sharks when no one else wanted to go. Really appreciated it, again going the extra mile to make my trip special and memorable. I already can’t...
Read moreI'll start with the dive operation, as this is the draw here. My sons and I are moderately experienced divers who found the dive sites and guiding really excellent. Vast variety of sealife, with the small and rare finds capably spotted and demonstrated by Manuel, our dive guide for the six days of our stay. Dive groups are limited to four per guide, which really allows each diver to get the most out of the experience. It's easy to get three dives a day, four on many days if you opt for a night dive. (Night dives were all shore dives during our stay, with good sitings to be had on the house reef).|Accommodations are very comfortable, with bungalows nestled into the jungle overlooking the beautiful seascape. Each one has a private balcony, and there are several covered outdoor spaces for reading or conversation.||Meals were satisfying and varied, with the dinner default being family-style service with careful modification for dietary restrictions and preferences. You can also always order off of the extensive menu for any meal. The communal dining experience is a huge attraction as you have the opportunity to meet many well-travelled divers from all over the world.||The staff are remarkable--warm, welcoming at every interaction, and really dedicated to client comfort and service across the board. Many have been here for ten plus years, and the team spirit comes through in every interaction. ||If you want to dive in this part of the Philippines it would be hard to do better than Magic Island--most highly...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the exceptional level of hospitality at Magic Island Resort. The manager personally stayed up until 1am to welcome us — a gesture that set the tone for the rest of our stay. Every single staff member, went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
What really stood out was how quickly the F&B team got to know us — they remembered our names, meal and beverage preferences within just one day. It’s that level of personal attention that makes a huge difference.
Everything during our stay was seamless. From perfectly timed meals to organised diving schedules and a smooth whaleshark day trip. The staff took care of every detail, letting us simply relax and enjoy the experience.
Magic Island is perfectly located for divers. The house reef is just steps from the resort and drops straight into an incredible coral wall, making it easy to squeeze in beautiful dives with no hassle. There are also numerous dive sites (all within a max 20-minute boat ride) that offer a stunning variety of marine life and underwater landscapes. The dive operation is run with precision and care, and we felt completely safe and looked after the whole time.
This is what true hospitality looks like. We left feeling cared for, appreciated, and genuinely special. Magic Island is not just a beautiful resort — it’s run by people who truly understand what it means to look after their guests. We definitely missed Magic Island staff at our other locations in the...
