OYO 770 J5 Guest House & Restobar — Hotel in Cebu

Bad experience with OYO. We booked this place in advance and upon arrival we were told that there is no room for us. We were told there is no alternative accommodation they can book for us in the whole town which I consider as a lie. Also we had a quick browse at the places around and our room was there still available but with twice the price. We have been left to ourselves to sort out the accommodation however it wasn’t easy as this place is quite far from the town and as it was on Saturday many hotel were already sold out. With this bad experience we went back to the town and found a hotel there. We ended up paying double for a tricycles to the the OYO 770 and back and also we had to pay much more for the replacement hotel than booking in advance. I consider OYO hotels as not trusted as they don’t even bother to let us know before that the hotel is overbooked, not event mentioning the replacement. I faced overbooking several times on my trips but always the hotel tried to find us an alternative accommodation and all was sorted out the professional way. I would really recommend this place to those who wants a cheap accommodation in Moalboal. We only paid about 1200 per night for an air-conditioned room and we were 5 people. This is perfect for those who have private car going Moalboal. The hosts are very accomodating and very kind. They will cater with your request without any questions. They also offer snorkeling tour packages if you just inquire at the counter.

They can actually cook for you meals if you buy raw food at the market. It's up to you how much you will pay them for that.

One con is that it is a few kilometres away from Panagsama and Basdako Beaches. However, there is a nearby beach that you can swim for free.

For those that don't have private vehicles, they also offer to find a for rent motorcycle for you to travel easily around the area, going to the beaches and restaurants.

I would really recommend this place for you...

Location away from everything and everyone. They don't clean the rooms. It rains in it. Water is an eventuality, hot water is a possibility. The managers sleep on the floor behind the reception.
