Bella Villa Coron — Hotel in Coron

Update from below comment: Emma, to start we had everything prepaid through airbnb. This was all set up months prior to our trip. The day of our arrival we were informed our room was not available, of course we are going to scramble and stay in whatever is offered. Does not mean we are not disappointed for our honeymoon stay.

After, we saw on the app that you canceled our remaining 3 days on airbnb removing our payment without asking us, we asked Grace for alternative payment options. We were told cash or direct bank transfer, we preferred direct bank transfer. We asked for the bank details from grace multiple times and only received them as we slept the night before we had to leave 5am for the ferry, which we made her well aware we needed it prior to that time. It was not a surprise we had to leave at 5am as Bella Villa scheduled our transport to the ferry. Then we “dashed” because we did not want to miss our ferry which departs once a day from Coron and we prepaid for.

We sent a direct bank-to-bank money transfer for the full sum as this was a preferable payment method stated by Bella Villa. We sent the reference number of the transaction to Grace prior to reaching the ferry. That is the record. We did not want to send you screen shots of our private accounts as part of your “proof”, there is no formal “receipt” provided by the bank. Transfers take 3-5 business days and can be tracked via the reference number through the recipients bank.

If you aren’t comfortable with this tracking method, then don’t offer it. We were treated hostilely trying to make our early morning ferry being pulled over on the side of the road and held there, even after the reference number was sent. All payments have been made, please check with your bank with our reference number provided.

All of these management issues are very unfortunate because we really did enjoy our stay at Bella villa.

We had a very difficult experience at Bella Villa. We first booked their Queen Suite for 4 nights via airbnb for our honeymoon. On the way to the airbnb we were notified our room was no longer available for the first night. We were offered a bunk bed for the night instead, since there were no other accommodations in Coron available, we took it.

During our stay the staff was very kind and accommodating. The rooms were very clean.

When trying to check out we were set for a 5am ferry to Coron. We asked for payment details multiple times the day before. At 430am, Grace (the manager) started calling frantically as she did not organize payment or provide us the necessary details. She coordinated our transport to the ferry and consistently called the driver halting our passage until her bank details came through. It was an extremely munpaltive and trapping experience that I would not wish on anyone (especially at 5am..).

It is a clean, nice place with lovely working staff, but the management is terrible. The owner, Emma, is based on California and is very uninvolved from what we could tell. We are airbnb owners ourselves and totally get that things happen, but how you treat your guest is everything.

If new management is put in place long term, we would stay again. Otherwise, we would recommend folks stay at more established...

Bella Villa ! Beautiful Villa. Located in a quiet secure neighbourhood with a resort pool located across the street. The staff were very accommodating providing us with pack lunches for our tours, scooters, tricycles rides and delicious meals at the house. Big house area with separate air conditioned bedrooms. Although on a map it appears to be a little ways out of town it only takes about 5-10 minutes via scooter or tricycle to get right into the heart of Coron. Ideal for families or friends don't let the distance scare you away into missing a hidden...

Our stay was like staying with family. It's so cosy and clean (cleanest place we have been so far in 4 weeks Indonesia and the one week Philippines). It's in a quiet area - 5-10min by bike to old town. Definitely recommended.

The villa adopted a small cute cat as well - Prince. Makes it even more feeling like home

Breakfast is eggs, vegetables or pancakes on your choice to the time you want it. We even extended our stay in Coron because we liked it so much.

Even after a few weeks in Philippines this is still one of the best memories...
