Awesome experience with the family. The kids (and the adults) loved the pool since the weather reaches to scorching hot temperatures, it was a perfect time to have a dip. In the evening, the pool area is eye-catching with its nice lighting. Oh almost forget, it's saltwater! The staff are super friendly. This place is PWD-friendly. We have had used their wheelchair for a dear family member of ours. Food is great and fairly priced. Dinner was good, as the food were served hot and on time. Breakfast buffet was good, they served Filipino style. Rooms are (and will always be to me) big and spacious. Our queen-sized Bed is firm and comfy. Lamp shades abound. WiFi signal is good with fast constant internet speeds (PLDT @100mbps). Its got a mini ref, an electric kettle to boil for your coffee or tea/also provided in there (drinking water dispenser is just near at the halfway). Bathroom area is also big, complete with toiletries, personel hygiene kits, bidet, bath and foot towels, soap and shampoo. Its got cable TV and blazing cold window-type AC. During the evening, the hotel is well lit, showcasing each and every good view. There's an airconditioned dining area, you can also dine outside as it has dining tables and chairs, al fresco style. Parking is ample. There is also a garden/park area where it has benches if you just want to relax. I did my early morning devotional there and the place was quiet, so conjusive to meditation. The location is just within a 2 minute-walk away from Azuela Cove. I highly...
Read moreHotel Tropika is a first class mid range hotel here in Davao City. It is a good choice for visitors to Davao because of it's quiet and safe location in the Lanang part of the city. It is set back from the main road in it's own gardens.
For the tourist it is very well placed to explore Samal Island with it's many resorts, the ferry terminal in about ten minutes away. A twenty minute taxi ride will take you down to the town center and The SM Premier Mall is very close by.
For the business traveler it is a suitably prestigious place to meet with clients and a quiet place to catch up with paperwork and use the WIFI and other business facilities.
There is also an excellent new function suite for weddings, parties, and larger meetings of all sorts.
Although the hotel is very new it has a history as during the second world war it was the site of a bungalow occupied by a Japanese Commander and defensive tunnels are still below the property. Finally the number of green frogs which are in the gardens and pond of the hotel mark how tranquil and environmentally friendly the setting is. And did I say the...
Read moreWe got married here. Booked for 2 nights (pre wedding and wedding night). Reception staff are very accommodating even the time we were just inquiring about rates and packages. Food tasting in their Cafe Aseya was also pleasant and enjoyable. The cafe staffs are attentive to our requests. Hotel staffs are very helpful during site visits/occ inspections for the wedding details and even during the wedding day. Management is also very easy to negotiate especially regarding the additional charges for the transferring of the ceremony locations (because it rained so we needed to transfer from the garden to the Alfresco) which was waived. They also waived charges for the ceiling works in the palmera hall. The garden is landscaped very beautifully and is perfect for garden weddings. Hotel grounds is instagrammable. Location is also very perfect for my guests because it's easily accessible to public transport but traffic noise is not heard in the hotel rooms. Overall experience was very satisfactory and my wedding turned out successful...
