North Zen Hotel — Hotel in Davao City

I found this hotel because it was referred to me, as my regular hotel was completely booked. This hotel had a room available for the 3 nights that I spent here in Davao. There was an Iron man conversation in town for the weekend. The front desk was very accommodating as I did not have a reservation on the day that I arrived. The room was very clean. The bed was a single bed but more comfortable than most hotels in this class. They offered free breakfast included in the room price of only certain rooms. I only had one challenging moment in this 3 day experience. That moment was when I was informed that my room was on the third floor and there was no lift. The second and third night I was transferred to the first floor. This was a very please t experience overall, mostly because of the staff This is now my second visit. This visit is not a pleasant one. The room rate that I was charged before waa changed and almost doubled. The front desk clerk was surley and argumentative. I think maybe she thinks that she now owns this hotel. I told her to try to be more polite to customers. She did however put me on the phone with the hotel manager. Clean and Big room with a not so clean bed(i got itchy the first night and so i sprayed alcohol all over the bed.) there’s a big open cabinet for luggage.

The bathroom have two soaps and without shampoo. the heater’s fine. No exhaust fan inside the bathroom but there is a small window on the upper part of the wall. there’s also a “tabo” which is good.

Limited parking space because there were cars parked owned by shop owners within the building. It’s good of you don’t have a car.

Nice and wide lobby outside the room but no elevators so it’s hard to bring your luggage upstairs especially when it’s that heavy.

The place is basic, worth what you paid for, nothing fancy. Good for a one night stay, not for a staycation; or maybe more than one night if you plan to be out the whole day for tours and just stay at night to sleep. There were ants in the room and the cabinet was dusty. They don't provide soaps/shampoos, just towels.Towels and blankets don't smell good. Lavatory and bathroom sinks don't drain fast.
