CHIBEL SUMMER HOTEL — Hotel in El Nido

Our recent stay at Chibel Summer Hotel was unfortunately a significant letdown, primarily due to the poor service and lack of willingness to accommodate requests.

Upon booking, we were quite hopeful to find a decent place to stay for less than 12 hours before our flight at 7am. With the word "hotel" in the name of the property, we expected a "hotel". But to our surprise, it was NOT a hotel, but rather, a shady ass place located in the inner roads of the barangay with rough road going to the property. We had to sweep the whole room to check if there is any hidden cameras as we felt by the ambiance of the place that our privacy might be threatened. We almost considered finding another place to stay but due to the weather conditions and the difficulty of finding a ride from the property, we decided to stay.

The booking included breakfast and we tried to ask the host if it is possible to ask for a packed meal since we are leaving by 5am to catch up with our 7am flight. But her response was "we'll see if I will be able to wake up".

Next, we tried to ask for airport transport. The lady told us it's P500 to drop us off at the airport with a distance of 2.5km. We definitely did not avail this for it was waaay too expensive!!!

Facilities were not well maintained, the room was dusty, the mattress was old, water faucet in the bathroom was broken and the AC was broken as well, left us using the ceiling fan which was noisy.

Overall, our experience was not pleasant to highlight that the host was not friendly at all and we did not feel really safe.

When I arrived at the hotel there was no one at the reception area. I later found a man who spoke and understood very little English. He said he was the manager. He asked to check my booking on my phone as there wasn't a computer at reception. He then spoke to someone who I assume was the owner for a long time before showing me to my room. There were two crumpled up towels on the bed which he folded. He claimed that they were clean but looked dirty so I asked him for a clean towel which he gave me. I also asked for shampoo and soap. He said that thle blanket was being washed and he would give it to me later but he didn't. Only when I met him the next day and asked him again did I get one. The floor in the room and bathroom looked a bit dirty. There was no bin. He said he would get me one but never did. The cellphone signal was terrible at the hotel and so was the WiFi. I tried calling the hotel but couldn't get through. He told me that the shower had hot water but it didn't when I asked him about it he said there isn't any hot water but that he could get me some in a bucket the next day...

We stayed 10 days in El.Nido. we decided to stay close to the airport the last 2 day of our stay. We found Island Lyfe Adventure apartelle but end up canceling the reservation due to internet not working and presents of thousands mosquitoes in the room. We found Chibel Summer as an option. The room is spacious compared to hotels we previously stayed. The place is far from the road but have a lot of amenities like Pool, Strong wifi connection through STARLINK provider, free breakfast and responsive manager.
