The hotel and its rooms have impressive finishes. A pricey but available fully stocked mini bar and fridge are in the room if you have any late night cravings, and the plus side is yashano mall is right next door with restaurants. The lobby is smaller than expected, and consists of the front desk, a small waiting room, bathroom and elevators. No dry cleaning service provided, for anyone curious. There is air conditioning running ice cold on all the upper floors which is not common in Legazpi.
I had to knock off 2 stars for a few reasons.
After staying for a couple days, the water temp of the shower never rose above lukewarm. After the weekend was over it was as if staff shut off the water heater?
There is constant construction happening in the shopping building that Lotus Blu shares with Yashano shopping mall. I'm sure this is only temporary but it'll probably last a couple more months. We didn't sleep in during our stay but the noise will keep you from doing so probably. In about a year or so the SM mall within walking distance will be built, largest mall in Albay. Not there yet, though.
The worst part is the complimentary breakfast Lotus Blu offers within Figaro cafe on the 2nd floor (a chain cafe with multiple locations). This is until the hotel finishes it's 2nd floor renovations which will include a restaurant, but I like to call it Figaroach cafe. The coffee here is great but we just couldn't continue eating here. The place is infested with roaches. They crawl on the seats, menu boards and display cases. I understand it's not a part of Lotus Blu but if you are going to offer breakfast vouchers because your restaurant isn't ready, it needs to be noted. I have to imagine it's in their food just by how these things were crawling through every inch of this place. The workers aren't phased at all by them either. The chain offers great coffee and desserts, this one is sadly gross, though.
Long review, but after staying at St. Ellis hotel as well, I'd have to still recommend St. Ellis over Lotus Blue. The rooms may not be as modern, but st. Ellis has a much nicer breakfast buffet, pool and massage service, dry cleaning service, water heater that works, no construction and is within walking distance to the large Ayala Malls and...
Read moreMy husband and I prefers to stay at hotels bec it should be a guarantee of exceptional service. Our main issue was the roaches. They are everywhere! Also avoid room 308! The wifi only works f you stand by the entry door. Never mind if you're in your bed. I complained twice and they "refreshed" it twice But I guess the problem is with their routers. We just opted to use our phone data in the end. Late checkout time is at 1pm before incurring any fees. We checked out at 1:30pm bec I had a dental emergency. Despite my complaints of no wifi and roaches, the front desk was not understanding enough to waive off the 9500 fee for our circumstance. Stating that the manager is not around and they might dock it off her pay. Which really reflects to bad management Bec based on the other places in the area, this should be one of the best? For P4000, not including the extra P500.1 was expecting at least good service. I paid less for better in Singapore and Japan And to think this is just a small city, in an old building (I can tell from the peeling off wallapapers and carpet stains and chipping off pain on furniture). Also, their fridge was dripping water on our food sc that was not sanitary. Overall, despite the reviews (which I pelieved) and the hotel flashing celebrity photos who have stayed in their hotel, they do not deliver to the promise of great service. Room 308 was also right beside the admin and we can hear loud conversations outside our door at 10pm. I requested a quiet room, they put us right beside the admin and right in front of the elevator. Good thing we only stayed for a night Breakfast was also meh. My husband did not even eat anything hahaha. Would recommend to people who can bear with this shit and pay...
