We went here on a weekday, Monday late lunch.
Selection of dishes and ingredients - bad 1 โญ
It just had 6 dishes and all were cold not even warm, the tempura shrimp is on request they won't serve it unless you request it from them but the tempura vegetables there's a lot they are all eggplant.
Ingredients for shabu shabu, yeah just all kinds of fishballs and super super thin beef, vegetables super dry, soup very bland. For grilling, the same thing you have 1 kind of pork, beef thinly sliced then all are internal organs liver, gizzard and etc which I don't like.
Sushi, the worst! Not even close to being called one it's all rice and a very small mango, crabstick, cucumber and they are trying to make it colorful? I don't know if it's blue, green, violet mayonnaise on top of every sushi sliced.
Desserts, coffee and strawberry with sliced gelatin and sago in a shot glass! For real? Sliced cake into cubes, how long did it have been displayed? It's all dry! 2 Cheap ice cream flavors chocolate and strawberry. Drinks are all bland except for the water.
Service 1 โญ
If you ask anything just follow their fingers they just point, they don't talk. Yeah it's rude! Paid using a credit card they will make you wait even though you are the only customer. They have 1 terminal not working and another hidden, you have to get mad first to get the hidden terminal.
Worth the price no, experience no, definitely the worst buffet I had. This is not the first time I ate at tong yang but first outside Metro Manila. This is a Tong Yang Legazpi branch inside SM Legazpi. I had tried SM Megamall branch and Vikings they...
ย ย ย Read moreThe place is great. Quiet ambience and also the seating are spacious. Individual hot pot so you can have your own choice of soup. Been to many buffet and hot pot with grill, but tong yang has only limited choice of food. Dimsums are still being heated. So you need to wait for it to be cooked. The ready to eat food (saw only pork, tokwa) were very limited. No fried chicken which is a must for toddlers. I didn't even saw rice. They said that pasta/pansit was available but I didn't saw one. If I remember it correctly,4 ready to eat foods were at the back part. Again pork and tokwa only. Fruits were limited only to water melon and papaya. :( Soft drinks available are 7 up and root beer only. 3 choices of fruit juices. Kiwi, and I forgot the 2 others (color red and white) Cold cuts are okay. Shrimp, choices fish and clamps. The worst part was, (sorry, But my personal opinion) was lack of man power. Was looking for some staff to assist us. Like serving the hot pot bowl and grill. Take note that my family was there at 7pm. And I remember it clearly that only 5 to 7 tables only were occupied. The seats and tables at the back part were empty. I only saw the busy sushi chef (which were great ๐) , the rest of the staff was missing. I even stand up to see if the dimsum chef were there..but no one.
Again, this place is great for small chats and family gatherings. But please serve more choices of...
ย ย ย Read moreWe went here at 11 am yet there were already many people in line so we got seated after almost an hour. So, it's better to reserve a table beforehand so that you won't have to wait for your turn.
There are a lot of selection for your meals and the prepared dishes were actually quite good. There are also various veggies, meat, seafood, and drinks (they have coffee!) The base soup for the hotpot was kind of bland for my taste though.
However, I'm not sure if they restock the sweets quite often but the mini cupcakes were all gone when we went to get some. There are other desserts though like halo halo, fruit salad, and ice cream. I found the service quite responsive and helpful as well, but they were quite strict about the leftovers especially the noodles left in your hotpot.
Anyway, it costs 638 when you eat during weekdays and it costs 50 pesos more when you eat at weekends. So, I think the price was worth it. It was definitely one of the most affordable eat-all-you-can buffet...
