I was booked by the client in this hotel for a business trip. The hotel is clean, odor-free and their towels are white. The bed is comfortable but the bed sheet is rough. The size of the room where I stayed (Room 17) is just right for two twin beds. There are adequate number of plugs for charging laptops and gadgets. The aircon is working and the temperature can be kept right. First major fail: there is no Wi-Fi. I find that really strange because it is 2018 (not 1980) and Antipolo is only 30 minutes away from Metro Manila. Worse, the hotel room does not have a phone or an intercom to call front desk. Upon check in they issue you a calling card with 2 cellphone numbers you can call. But most of the time these numbers just keep ringing. You need to go outside and walk to the first building where the front desk is to ask for anything. Second major fail: they will not clean your room unless you surrender your keys to the front desk when you leave for the day, and they don't even tell you that policy upon check in. This is the only hotel I know that does not clean rooms everyday (nor replenish amenities like toilet paper and bottled water) unless you explicitly ask. So the breakfast plates I left in the morning were still there when I arrived in the afternoon. Third major fail: the shower area doesn't have a drain. The water is suppose to free flow on the floor from the shower area to the lavatory area and then to the toilet area to find its way to the drainage system. So after you take a bath you have to walk on wet floor to do anything else in the bathroom. The is a safety issue here. I don't think there was an architect who thought of the layout of this toilet. Sad! Third major fail: the front door is poorly fitted on the door frame such there is a gap around the door. On the first night there were some men drinking in front of Hotel Room #16 (Rooms 16 and 17 is on the ground level leading to the basketball court/parking lot) I had to put up with the noisy discussion of drunken men until 12 midnight. There was no security guard in the hotel grounds to regulate noise level. Fourth major fail: On my second morning I requested by text (because no one was picking us the phone) that my breakfast be brought to my room at 6:30am as I was checking out at 7:30am. I had to follow up 3 times before breakfast came at 7:20am. I never want to go back to that...

Antipolo City in Rizal is a much more socio economically depressed area compared to Metro Manila. You can't go into this hotel thinking that you're going to get a standard, westernized hotel experience. It's locally owned and run with different sense of how life goes. It is one of the only hotels in Antipolo, and due to traffic, it's about 3 hours from the Manila airport (though only about 25 km). The hotel is located in an area where it's easy to grab either the jipney bus or a tricycle cab. A tricycle cab is 40 pesos per ride, so it's cost effective for many. The jipney is 10 pesos and often taken by locals.||||I was here for a conference and stayed 4 nights. I didn't sleep well because, as previous reviewers have stated, there were small ants throughout my room. The bathroom did not have any sort of shower curtain or separate shower area from the sink and toilet. There is no counter space. Outlets are limited. The wifi was unreliable and sometimes unusable. There is NO WIFI in the conference meeting rooms. The chairs in the meeting rooms are not terribly comfortable and many people ended up standing. I also received the boiled egg and rice for breakfast, and I found bugs in my rice one of the days. ||||More importantly, the door to my room didn't seem to lock properly ever, and my room was directly under a stairway. I think the fact that I didn't feel that me or my belongings were safe contributed to the lack of sleep.||||My room was never serviced during my stay, but I understood that I had to leave my only room key with the staff in order for that to occur. There were random, plastic buckets placed on my bathroom sink and toilet. ||||There are pools available, but I was not able to get into any of them.||||If I were given a choice, I would not stay here again. I'm not a wimpy traveler by any stretch, but this one tested me, mainly because I didn't feel...

An absolute nightmare of a hotel. Nothing seems to work in this very old rundown hotel. When I checked into my room, the WIFI, TV and water heater was not working. I insisted on them giving me another room since I paid for a 3-night stay, which was extremely costly. After a while, I was given another room. Since it was late, I checked the heater and wifi and both were working. I slept and woke the next morning. ||To my horror, the air-con was not working. I was happy that the room was cool but did not realise that after a while, the rom was hot and stuffy and a bad smell came out. I insisted in changing into another room. I was finally given another room. the aircon was working, the wifi was working and the tv was working. However, the water from the tap trickled. I was tired of complaining and decided to check out of the hotel as i had enough of this bad hotel. It was a terrible experience and I will NEVER recommend anyone to stay here. The hotel is old and needs major repairs. The swimming pool, not to mention, was dirty and unused. I took a dip and saw that the pool was dirty and had lumps of dirt, not sure what they were, and I left.||The rooms that i was given was poorly...

1.Gem hotel convenient close to restaurants and shops. 2.no gadget for paying with credit card. 3.staff ok but speak limited English 4.They don’t expect AUD cash to pay for room only American Dollars 5.rooms small and bed with foam mattress bareable 6.no phone in room to contact receptionist. 7. Air-Con installation poor filters need cleaning. 8.House keeping very below standard + sign in room states to book room to be cleaned doesn’t exist unless you talk Tagalog and deal directly to cleaning staff. 9.White tiles around the units very slippery when wet. I stayed in the turquoise room very noisy due to a privately owned swimming pool as they party most nights until 3am in the morning especially Friday-Saturday But the hotel has a pool on premises and it’s free. Also breakfast every morning fairly standard as consists of rice, few veggies egg and fish or some sort of meat with a coffee.

If you're a family with kids, please don't pick room Pearl 23. There's a hollow blocks factory at the back where the AC is placed. We didn't have a good sleep due to dust. Food (breakfast) was good, it was delivered at exactly 7am. Staffs are accommodating. AC is old but still working fine. There's also a small fridge inside. TV is big and is connected to cable. Bathrooms are okay, there's also a heater. Pillows are soft. Blanket material is not that good. We didn't try the pool though. The place looks old but clean and serene.
