We've been here just last 16th of May. I learned about this hotel while I'm surfing the net. I actually looked and even contacted some other hotels but unfortunately due to summer season, most of the hotels I've found are already fully booked. I think I spent more than a week looking for a hotel to stay at Pagudpud.||I saw this hotel May 11th and shoot them a message right away. I was so thankful that they responded to my message as well. I tried to call them but the connection is not so good (which is understandable). Booking at this hotel is so easy. The person replying on my messages was also approachable. However, when we already reached their hotel they already stopped responding on my messages. Their hotel is family owned. I guess it's their former residence which they turned into a hotel (beach home). There is another beach home beside them and their signage is not so noticeable especially during at night. By the way, we reached Pagudpud around 8pm and it's really dark outside. (We had a tour from Vigan to Laoag and Laoag to Pagudpud) There are no street lights. I txted their contact number and asked them where is their lobby so that we could already check in and take a rest since we are also too tired from our trip (I'm with my boyfriend). They didn't respond unfortunately. There's a lot of people infront of the hotel. Front of their beach home is also their cafeteria. I just approach the lady on the desk and asked her where is the lobby and she told me that I am at the right place and speaking with the right person. Alright, we are already checked in after paying the remaining amount for our stay. Nobody accompanied us to our room, they just told us it's upstairs.||The room is just fine. With a small table inside, towels for 2, roll of bathroom tissue and a trash bin. The bathroom is okay, it's clean. (All I want is a clean bathroom, I don't care if you didn't provide us a bathroom kit but it's better if you provide one though). We just took a quick shower and rest for about 20 minutes. We went downstairs to have our dinner. Unfortunately (again, it looks like it became my favorite word while writing this review) the same lady who I spoke with earlier just around 30 minutes ago told me that their kitchen is no longer open for orders. My boyfriend and I said, "WHUUUUT???!!" I told the lady nobody told us about it and it's not even written on their website or she didn't even told me earlier while I'm speaking with her. My boyfriend then talked to her (he's actually not fond of handling this kind of situation but I guess he just let me keep my mouth shut before I say something worse). He said, why we were not told earlier, what are we supposed to do now since we didn't even had our dinner yet. We spent 2 hours on the road going to Pagudpud and we just took a nap in the bus as we didn't expect this kind of happenings. If only we knew it, we might had our dinner to early before we travel to Pagudpud. I even sent them txts from time to time while we are in Laoag just to make sure that they were informed that we'll still be there. I let them know the day I booked on their hotel that we'll be there by night as we are managing our time very well. Then the lady my boyfriend spoke with looks like felt pity on us and she then asked for our order. We waited for 30 minutes for our dinner. It's not bad. Their food tastes great. (We ordered sinigang na baboy which is already good for 2 persons and costs around P200 if I'm not mistaken.)||What I love about the place is that it's just a 2 minute walk to the beach. The next day, we spent our day swimming in the clear water of Pagudpud. This beach home is also located on the white sand beach unlike other beach homes and hotels which are located on the rocky part of Pagudpud. We also tried Sabrina Beach Home's Crema De Leche which also tastes good and it costs P88.||We extend out stay for another 2 hours. We stayed there until 2pm just to kill the time instead of waiting on the bus terminal for our trip going back to Manila.||Overall, I can say that this hotel is just fine for an overnight stay. I recommend this if you want an affordable place to stay at or if you are really on a budget and you'll just stay for a night or 2. This type of beach home I guess is also just good for a small group, for 2-4 persons I think. I'm afraid that they cannot accomodate a huge group in their place.||Anyways, there's always a room for...
Read moreI would not recommend this hotel to anyone, not even to your enemies. Starting with the room itself, it's small, big enough only for the beds, a small nightstand and a bathroom that's only slightly bigger than a closet. No TVs in spite of the cable wire installed to the wall, no space for a TV to begin with, and there are only two sockets available so you'll either have to bring an extension wire to charge all your gadgets in good time or rely on the sockets found in the hallways. We stayed in the third floor so we could also hear the footsteps of anyone passing the rooftop or whatever is on top of us.||||Second, the bathroom, which as mentioned is incredibly small so your clothes have a great chance of getting wet. On top of that, the sink ours came with is clogged, there is no heater so we had to ask the staff to boil water for us which didn't come until around 2-3 hours after we put in the request. The toilet cover is broken, we had to ask them for something so basic as a tissue roll and its holder and about its holder, they had to look for a SPARE which ended up being broken and dirty. The ceiling of the bathroom is also stained at all four corners so it's highly possible that some leakage would have happened in the past. No soap was provided, they either missed our request or did not have one to spare in the first place, and we had to use the soap of a previous hotel who provided said soap to us the moment we checked in. The towels, we had to request for.||||We issued these complaints to the staff but they are so incompetent that all they can do is smile at you and excuse themselves to do something else that does not solve your problems. And it makes you angrier but there's nothing you can do because the very people who are supposed to help you are powerless beyond their smiles. We left this place as soon as we could, we could not put enough distance between its door and our backs.||||Other notes:||- Wifi exists but is limited to the first floor, the restaurant, and does not work anyway.||- Some of our friends had to wait for at least one hour for their dinner...
Read moreI'm going to lay down the only two good things I can say I like about this hotel:|||| - Near the beach||The resort was ~200m away from the beach. But on this side of the beach is where the fishing boats are parked. Also a lot of big rocks and seaweed on the sea bed near the shore can be found. You can walk to the other side. But it's not for the weary.|||| - Cheap accommodation||This is a budget hotel so 4 people can stay here (not hassle free) for a cheap price||||Now onto the bad stuff..||Water and electricity problems:|| - There's a water heater on our bathroom, but it was not connected to the water source. I don't see the point there.|| - There were times when there was no water AT ALL. Could be the problem of the province, but it would be good if they can prepare for these kinds of situations.|| - Power went out at least 5 times on the one night we spent there. They had a generator, but it could only supply a little amount of electricity. Not enough to turn on the A/C. It was a miracle we're able to sleep. Good thing we were already tired. But we're literally sleeping on our sweat. A fan should be ready in case power goes out.||||Food:|| - Food was okay. Not really cheap and I feel like they weren't giving us enough for the price they sell them. || - If there are many people currently staying on the resort, order at least 1 hour in advance. TRUST ME.||||Noise level at it's peak:|| - OK. I have to say that the people who were staying at the resort on the same day as us had so much to say and they felt the need to shout sometimes. We could hear them loud and clear. Inside the room. The walls were cemented and the hallway was a bit narrow. So the echoes bounced back so much. Closing the door wasn't any help.||||T&B:|| - NO. EXHAUST. You've been warned. Take a number 2 with the consent of...
