Review of Asia Divers / El Galleon Dive Resort, Puerto Galera

We recently spent a week at Asia Divers / El Galleon Dive Resort in Puerto Galera, and it exceeded all of our expectations. We chose Puerto Galera primarily for its convenience in transportation, and after researching dive resorts, we settled on this one because of the excellent reviews highlighting both the great food and well-equipped dive shop.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. Puerto Galera is a fantastic diving destination with everything you could want — easy access from Manila, a variety of dive sites, and abundant marine life, including an incredible number of Nudibranchs. As divers, we were in heaven!

The resort itself was a standout. The food was consistently delicious, and although we explored other nearby restaurants, we always found ourselves coming back to enjoy the resort’s meals with a beautiful ocean view.

What really set this trip apart, however, was the service. The entire staff, from Allison and her team to the dive shop crew, were incredibly responsive, friendly, and helpful. They took care of everything for us, from preparing our dive equipment (suits, fins, BCDs) to ensuring everything was ready whenever we arrived at the dive shop. It made the whole experience seamless and stress-free.

The diving itself was fantastic, thanks in large part to our dive guide, Bunny. He was not just an expert guide but also an accomplished macro photographer. His ability to find and point out ocean critters was extraordinary — we saw turtles, snakes, moray eels, stingrays, and, of course, plenty of Nudibranchs. What impressed us the most was how Bunny always kept an eye on us during dives, ensuring our safety and comfort, unlike some guides who just lead you along.

In addition to the great diving, we also enjoyed the resort's laid-back atmosphere, making it feel like the perfect base for both diving and relaxation. We met several other divers during our stay, many of whom return to this resort every year — a true testament to the quality of the experience here.

In short, Asia Divers / El Galleon Dive Resort provided the perfect combination of excellent diving, great food, and outstanding service. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to the Philippines — it's the perfect spot to kick off a long diving adventure while also enjoying some downtime. Highly...

Our group had the most incredible time at El Galleon Dive Resort! The staff was not only friendly, but they also went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. From coordinating transportation to and from the airport to providing exceptional service throughout our stay, they made us feel welcome and well cared for. The seamless transportation coordination was a game-changer for our group. We didn't have to worry about arranging transportation, as the resort took care of everything. It made our arrival and departure stress-free and allowed us to enjoy our vacation from the moment we arrived. They have their own pier, allowing a seamless arrival to the rooms. The food at El Galleon Dive Resort was not only well-priced, but it was also absolutely delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the dishes. Every meal was a treat for our taste buds, from local specialties to fresh fruit juices to a wine cellar. We also appreciated that the resort offered options to accommodate different dietary preferences, ensuring everyone in our group was satisfied. The staff's helpfulness and friendliness were truly outstanding. They were always available to provide recommendations for local activities, assist with any questions or concerns, and ensure we had everything needed. Their genuine care for our group was evident in their personalized service and attention to detail, making our stay special. The resort was well-maintained and provided our group a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Just far away from Sabang to not deal with the noisy nightlife but close enough to stumble back when we did venture out. The beach in front is well-maintained and the water is clear enough to see the bottom. We had an unforgettable time at El Galleon Dive Resort and left with cherished memories. We highly recommend El Galleon Dive Resort to anyone looking for a fantastic dive vacation with a group of friends or family. We can't wait to come back and create more...

This was my 2nd trip to El Galleon and considering how good my 1st trip was , which I thought could not be beaten, I was totally blown away when I have to say it was even better. From the moment you arrive you are treated like a long lost friend. Everyone remembers you and everywhere you loo you are surrounded by genuine smiles from all the team.||The diving was fantastic and I completed another course under the guidance of my diving guru Pete Eaton , who is just a great guy who loves to dive and loves nothing better than to see everyone who dives with him enjoy themselves and have the best experience. The same can be said of all the dive crew, Instructors and divemasters and of course the amazing deck crew led by Sir Darwin who is just a total gentleman !! they work so hard to make every dive a joy. Thank you very much for everything that you do !!!||The food was fantastic , Toto the chef and his team who conjure up the the daily specials , the mango shakes , the morning coffees , the valentines day dinner , the quality was brilliant !! ||The waitresses , what a team !!! from morning to the early hours in the Point bar they are always there smiling and making sure you are looked after for your entire trip.||For anyone who wants to try Scuba , anyone who just wants an amazing relaxing holiday , I would highly recommend that you plan a trip to this amazing resort and just enjoy the fantastic service and friendliness of all the team that work here.||My friends are I did not take too long to agree to return next year for 3 weeks as it is just a brilliant place to visit, make friends and share our passion for...

At El Galleon dont expect the Ritz. Expect something different, much simpler, more anthentic, and overall an experience you will remember as awsome for a long time. As previously implied, the rooms are basic but clean and functionnal. They can even be quite lovely with a sea view, a dressing and tiny little baclony (ask for 15b). A thing you should not expect is a pool. There is something, but it is more some kind of pond intended for the training of diving students than a swimming pool. The location of Galleon is absolutely fantastic. Right on the seafront, you will enjoy the serenity and quietness of the place, and nevertheless be able to join the ramba samba of the busy bars and discos from « downtown » within minutes. The personnel is kind, helpfull, and really eager in helping you having an awsome overall stay. Special thanks to May for her kindness! Last but not least, the cuisine is outstanding (try the daily specials or ask the chef for its cream and capres sauce on tuna) and fairly priced with an more than fair wine cellar with regards to the location. If you consider diving, Asiadivers is the one and only choice. The gear although its many previous lives is doing the job, once again the location with a private pier very enjoyable, the premisses are functionnal and the daily diving plans very well organized. Thanks to Ruben, Randy, Henry, Jen and all the rest of the staff. The experience was awsome!

I stayed for 1 night only, a late check-in and an early checkout. - not worth the price - rude receptionist - A little far from the main road For its price compared to other hotels which btw cheaper than this, I kind of expected more as I stayed at two hotels before staying here. The room is okay, there is a safe, a fridge, bath towels, a cabinet for your bags and clothes, and a hair dryer but there is no socket in the bathroom 🙄 the bed is terrible if you have back problems and the floor is very squeaky😆 I was greeted by a rude receptionist lady named Julie, seems like she hates her job lol. I take that back, she did not greet me, she gave me a paper right when she saw me as if I knew what to do with it and I asked her what is it for, turns out she needed my signature. Gawd, she's the complete opposite of what a receptionist should be like. The same thing happened when I checked out. BUT the restaurant and bar staffs are very accommodating and serve good margaritas. When you like to get drunk and wasted at night the bars are quite far from this hotel, which is a hassle, the walkway is dark at night. As of the moment, there's ongoing building construction in front of their Bar called The Point so during day time you will pass by noisy equipment. Overall the hotel is OKAY, probably not for me.
