Booked a room there for a little under two weeks. Had issues from the very beginning. About three days or so before arriving I sent them a message confirming that there would be a shuttle from the airport to bring me to the hotel. There was no response and I sent another email two days later and also did not get a response. When I arrived at the airport there was no shuttle so I had to hire a taxi to get there ( a minor inconvenience, but not a great start). When I brought it up during check in to the front desk they told me that to reserve a shuttle I would have had to contact them two days beforehand. I told them that I had and that I didn't get a response and showed them the messages I sent. They did not even apologize despite me following the protocol that I had no idea existed. After getting to the room the amenities were far worse than what was promised online, no hot tub in the bathroom, no extra chairs and the one that was in the room was much lower quality than those pictured. No carpet and the air conditioner was so loud when starting, stopping and running that it would continually interrupt my sleep. At three AM loud and possibly drunk people were going through the halls and causing a commotion. After the second night I was upset because I had paid extra for what I thought was a higher level of accommodation, but could have found a similar room for over a hundred less than what I paid for this one so I went to see if I could check out early and be refunded for the unused portion of my booking. They stated that it was not up to them to do a refund as I made the booking online and that I would have to contact the booking company and it would therefore be impossible for them to do a refund. I called the booking company and after working with them for an hour and a half trying to contact the hotel with each time the hotel trying to say each person they talked to did not have the authority to do a refund the booking company said that what they had said previously was a lie and that they did indeed have the ability to process a refund and that the booking company was the one who, in fact, could not initiate a refund without the hotel's approval. Instead of being reasonable and trying to resolve the situation amicably for both sides they simply ignored any concern and did not even apologize or even fake sympathy that there was a problem. What could have been a few small problems that could have easily been resolved turned into hours lost trying to get an easy resolution to a problem and a...
Read moreWe have been to many hotels in Ortigas whether a 4 star or a 5 star hotel. But i was able to book this hotel because they have Billiards facility that my kids like to play and i saw in their website that they have a jacuzzi and a nice swimming pool but to my dismay âEverything is just in the PICTURE . The swimming pool is very DIRTY in person. Obviously you dont know when the water was last changed, im not surprised that no one was there to swim because the pool is really dirty, sorry for the word but its really disgusting even the jacuzzi is out of order either. My kid and my husband were able to play billiards but you have to go down again just to make a deposit in case of damage etc etc imagine the hassle that you still have to pay first, but okei just to be able to play we followed the rule but because of extreme heat in the penthouse they didnt play for a long time and just got back to the room. And the most anticipated part when you stay at the hotel is the â breakfast â unfortunately their breakfast is not buffet style and the time for you to claim it is very limited if im not mistaken you can claim from 7 am to 9 am only. There is an option to just take it out and bring it to the room but you cant have coffee. You requested bottled water because the food will taken out but they said there was none! Oh my goodnessâ in the first place they didnt even mention when you checked in that there was an option to have the breakfast delivered in your room. To the staff, in fairness they are kind to bring to our room the food we ordered at grab. I thanked them for that. And their Executive Suite is also okei except for the aircon which is quite noisy. And this is only the hotel that charges parking fee of 600 per night i think thats too much. We stayed 2 nights so we pay 1200 Php for parking fee. So dissapointing. Sad to say we will not return...
Read morePositive Reviews: Room, toilet & bath, bed, and kitchenette are clean. Spacious room for a studio unit type. Has bathtub and good hot water system. The aircon is cold, though its quite noisy, like a car radiator, likely due to its old model.
Downsides: Reservation contact number is difficult to reach. No free parking, which can be inconvenient for guests with cars. It can dampen the mood of the staycation, causing concerns right at the start. This is a trade-off for the low room rates, as you have to pay around Php90 for the first 3 hours and Php600 for less than 12 hours of parking. Cabinet has an unpleasant smell, as if someone had lived in the unit for a long time. Mirror on the wall inside the room gives an eerie feeling, as if theres another room on the other side. Breakfast is a set menu, either continental or Filipino with free-flowing coffee. Our order almost took an hour to arrive, and the food wasnt freshly cooked. The eggs were too oily, and the bacon was no longer crispy. There are no food options for kids, so its better to bring your own breakfast for them. The ambiance at Illos Restaurant is not pleasant. There are many flies, making it uncomfortable to dine in. Abovementioned comments about the restaurant are disappointing, especially if you are considering to avail the Php999 per person...
