The place was good for staycation, events, and indoor activities. Their details said it has outdoor activities which may imply to having ‘water’ or beach in front of their facilities. Little did we know there was no view inside the resort. During the first day, we checked in late because we had purchased flight at midnight. So we have to claim our keys to the guard who was on site. After checking the rooms, it was pretty decent. The only and biggest problem was the utilities. The toilet/lavatory had a problem! It doesn’t flush. So we have to get it pumped. Little did we know the maintenance of the facility started working around 9:00 AM, so the toilet is just waiting. Housekeeping came and I requested to use the pump because there were still floating in the toilet bowl which I find it pretty embarrassing. Do note that they also do not have telephones inside their rooms. You have to run from your room to the receptions just to request/report. Invigorating! The staff is nice, although they keep forgetting the request. To the point that, I hate to request 3 times just to get it accomplished. The reception is also a headache. They are Interns from Universities? They are 5 receptionist, yet only one is talking. The rest is just standing there and watching. I still can’t forget about the one staff at the reception who had intrusive thoughts who talks a lot without sense. They made 3 mistakes from taking pictures of the issuing id for their ‘validation’ of booking. We also requested to have a massage. Little did we know the massage was overpriced. We booked around 8:00 PM, they came 8:15, finished around 9:00 so a waste of time! One of the massage therapist even requested a tip despite being late and coming from berretto which was 5 minutes away from the place! Literally, we just walked there earlier from the famous coffee shop. Crazy how people lie! The breakfast is so cold as well. It was on time, but on time to eat leftovers. That’s what it felt like. The candles below aren’t working. We told it to them and it seems they’re not open to constructive criticism. Anyway, If you plan to island hoping, this “resort” isn’t for those who look forward to do so much activities. The pool as well is hot, but the chlorine level is so high, you’ll get a red eye! We also found a child slipped near the pool. No medic was assisting the kid. Just a pricey hotel with a ‘starting’ quality. No plans to change the rating because I’ve read it too many times here that it’s great. Time to say, it’s too good to be true.

Disappointing Stay - Overcharged I recently stayed at this resort, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The place looks old and poorly maintained. The room door was difficult to open and close, the sink in the comfort room was clogged, and the floor was dangerously slippery. The Wi-Fi was so slow that I had to rely on my own internet. Another issue was the early check-in policy—when I asked if I could check in just one hour earlier, they wanted to charge me 1,000 pesos! I’ve stayed at multiple 4-5 star hotels and resorts, and I’ve never encountered such a charge for a simple early check-in request. They also have a long list of extra charges posted in the room. Everything you request comes with a fee—even for something as simple as an extra pillow. I usually ask for an extra pillow when I stay at hotels, but I didn’t bother this time because I didn’t see the need to pay extra after already booking a room. Even the toiletries have additional charges, and if you want to use the water kettle, you have to pay 200 pesos—ridiculous. The breakfast was also disappointing. The options were very limited: tuyo, fried bangus, fried chicken, and eggs. With two fish dishes already, they could have at least added some sausages, bacon, or other meats to cater to foreign guests. Not everyone eats tuyo and bangus for breakfast, so a more balanced menu would have been better. At first, I didn’t believe the negative reviews I saw online, but now I understand. I’ve learned my lesson. This resort is not worth the price, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

First, I paid online. 2 rooms. She first tried to get me to stay in one without refunding the other. She (Gel is her name) charged me for two deposits even for one booking. Then there’s the cash you need even if you book online. I’ve never had that before where you pay online and they still require a cash deposit on site. And the NON-Refundable ”environmental fee” not mentioned online. And after you go a quarter mile to get to the nearest ATM to get the cash after wading through prostitutes, beggars and junkies, you get to go to a room that is a close tie to the worst I ever stayed in back in 2003 in Mexico. Horrendous smell. It smells like one of those urinal mints. Dirty walls, dirty floors, nasty bathroom (see photos). I think this room would be fairly priced at $12-15 per night. Not $64. I’d ask for a refund but I don’t want to go look for another hotel this late in the evening. Another review mentioned mosquitos. Yep. Been here 15 minutes and I’ve been bitten four times. AC barely keeps up. I’m sweating and it’s as cold as it gets. I can’t believe hotels.com actually lets the owner list this dump. Oh, and security seems more about catching you breaking their rules so they can take your deposit than to actually protect you or your stuff. I think a jail cell might be a better option and probably cheaper too. The online photos are fake. They do not reflect reality in any way.

One of the worst stays I have ever experienced in a supposed resort. Firstly paid over ₱7000 for a room to fit 3 adults and a kid. The room was very tired, not very clean, tv did not work properly and very basic in amenities. Not worth with the price!||The overall resort| is very tired. It needs a major refurbishment. Paint is peeling, large cracks in the building, garden returning to jungle etc!||Staff are not at all friendly or flexible. Arrrived with our family at 12pm after a long drive. Requested an early check in. Advised they are just cleaning the room now. I said that is great can you advise how long until will be ready. The reply you can not access it until 2pm at the earliest. Wow. Thanks. ||The free breakfast is average basic Filipino style breakfast food. It is a buffet format only 7am to 9am. Very limited hours for a supposed resort. Also requested if we could just take. plate to our room (literally a minute from where the food is served) to be told no not possible. ||The location is average. On a busy highway. Not sure where they get Waterfront for the name of the hotel as the only water close by is the run down pool with a run down bar. ||The bar has chairs that look like they have been recycled from a trash site. The bar staff did not know how to make basic cocktails and constantly referred to a 'menu' with the expected result being average overpriced drinks.||The final and worst part of this once in a life experience was the check out process. ||We went to check out around 11.15am well before the noon requirement. After handing in the keys and and the deposit slip for the ₱1000 to be returned in full (we did not consume anything in the room) I just stood there for about 10 mins. I asked why the delay. Advised housekeeping was checking the room. Ok so I sat down. After another 20 mins chased them. Finally advised they would be keeping my deposit because of supposed stain on pillow case and sheet. We were invited to inspect the linen. First, the pillow case was like this whern we arrived! Second, the small dirt marks on the sheet were not stains at all and clearly would be cleaned in a standard wash.!||After my wife argued the ridiculous of the accusation and the ridiculous of not getting a tiny bit of dirt out in a standard wash we were finally given our deposit in full. ||This I expect was a scam attempt to falsely pocket our deposit. ||The whole check out experience took over 45 mins and was embarrassing in that the false accusations were directed at us in front of other customers. ||If there is one resort/hotel to avoid this is it! If you are crazy enough to stay there now you now only have your...

This review is somewhat critical but I am reviewing it based on the pricing of well over a 100 dollars per room. Without prior communication they even charge 100 pesos for some invented environmental charge. Again as in most Hotels and resorts in the Philippines, the staff is friendly, and super service oriented. The big issue is again the management. Here we even discovered that the personell is financially punished if they do not follow the rules of the Filippino management. The resort's facilities are good, but somewhat old and not well maintained. There is a large bar and dining area, and the rooms are large with two large beds. The pools is also large a with a good depth variing from 1.4 t0 1.8 m. and 1m for the kiddy pool. But the water is too warm to really swim or be active. (+/- 34 degrees C).This is mainly caused by the somewhat cloudy water and the fact that it is in the sun all day. The provided internet is almost useless. The TV has only 3 channels with TV resolution that reminds me of the past with analog tube type TV's of the seventies and eighties. The breakfast is like in many cheap places, limited to 3 choices. Hotdogs with eg and rice, Corned beef with egg and rice, or fish with egg and rice. Served straight from the microwave still under plastic to your table. The fish is extremely dry, with just vinager taste. If someone would feed that to his dog I would slap him for animal cruelty. The feeling of hospitality is missing because of the management that mistrusts the persoonell and the guestst alike. I'll explain: The resort in enclosed by a wall, the pool too. Still you have to wear a tag to show that you are entitled to be in the pool. In a prison you won't object, but as a Hotel guest on a holiday?... We had two beers the first day at the bar. The tab was put on the room. The same evening someone came to our room to get the money... and we still are staying there onother day... About the location, The resorts management's claim that the sea is about 280 m away is not entirely correct as you can not cross a dirty river that is in between the resort and the sea. The closest walking distance to a beach is 844 m and to to Bluerock Resort's beach is 945 m.

In conclusion: Subic WaterFron Resort is a heavily over priced resort, only focussed on filipino guests. with a neasrsighted view on hospitality. But that is, as already mentioned above, only caused by the management. The staff makes up a lot with a helpfull attitude...
