Very overpriced. Normally I'm okay with overpriced if it's also over delicious, but this was just very mediocre. I did focus on their Thai food so maybe that's just not what they're good at. The Tom yum Gai was delicious, if not very spicy like I asked, but the laarb moo was bland, lacking in Thai flavors, it tasted like a western ground pork with herbs. I also asked for it to be spicy and it barely tingled my tongue. The Pad Thai looked nice but was also rather bland, again, lacking in Thai flavors. I don't consider a pile of peanuts on top to be "Thai". Their mango shake was actually very good. Loved it. I should have just taken three of those for dinner. The meatballs in the spaghetti were super chewy, all tendon-y and just unpleasant to eat. The marinara sauce was pretty good though. Shame.
But what made my visit unpleasant was the poor service. My group was basically ignored until I physically stopped waiters to get service. I asked for rice 4 times before actually getting any, our entrees just sitting there getting cold without rice. I asked for water 3 times before just standing up and walking to an empty table to grab two bottles myself. But the table next to us was waited on hand and foot, and suddenly after they leave, we finally get attention. Too late, after we had everything finally. They arrived after us and left, full, before we even got started. Maybe they were regulars. Or just cute and got the male waiters attention easily.
However, I loved the live music and atmosphere. And the ingredients were fresh and the presentation was good. And if someone doesn't like explosions of flavor, the Thai food might be good. I'd be willing to try it again, try to find something else that's good to...
Read moreWe found this place as the hotel we were staying at was a 20min drive to the Subic Freeport area.. and we were looking somewhere close by.
The reviews you may see on Facebook, traveladvisor and whatever else you may see are true. The food is great.
Firstly, the FB page inquiry we made was promptly replied and very helpful. No need for a booking or less than 10 people but if you do have more than 10 perhaps you should advance message the owner.
We went for dinner and at around 7pm. We had to fight off a evening crowd. Perhaps the table arrangements where not so ideal to fit a party of 7 but we patiently waited ( the establishment can fit around 15-18 or properly arranged and it was a tight squeeze. The wait for our order may have been a little long. BUT once the room cleaned up and the food arrived. It was worth the wait. The shrimp & chicken Pad Thai noodles along with chicken pandan curry was perfect with the pineapple rice.
Alittle tip or heads up ... we wanted to try the Laksa but was told special orders would be taken hours ahead of time. So that is what we will have to do next time.
Also due to location.. around the area of some bars and ongoing construction to the drains infront of the establishment we had to park around 100 meters away so that could be an issue for some. We were in a group with 2 seniors and a child so it may have been about of an eye opener at the very least so consider popping in for lunch.
Anyways here was the scoring.. Food: 10/10 Service: 8/10 Seating: 7/10 Location: 7/10 Overall 8/10
Definitely if I have a chance to...
Read moreThe restaurant serves Thai food as well as Filipino and "international food", we made the mistake of ordering Filipino food, which was honestly the worst food we have been served after 7 weeks in the Philippines. Also, ridiculously overpriced. You asked for more details and specificity, My Filipina wife's adobong manok was all fat and bone, swimming in oil, and she rarely complains. The grilled Liempo was maybe 4oz, also mostly fat, served with one cup of cooked rice on two leaves of raw cabbage, no kamatis or pepino as the menu stated, the waitress was kind enough to bring us a tiny bowl when asked. I thought your restaurant was clean and the staff friendly and attentive, that's why my wife insisted she leave a tip. As far as value, after leaving, we walked by many restaurants, carenderia's etc that were selling better looking Liempo at obviously better prices. Your restaurant was empty when we arrived at 700pm but had many foreigners with their dates, when we left. I don't think the average Filipino would spend two days wages on two plates of food and two local beers. We picked your restaurant from Google maps on the way into town, the pictures of Thai food looked very good, however, our bad, we were craving...
