December 2015 - with the effort of my girlfriend's department to develop camaraderie and teach teamwork among its members, one of their leaders brought an idea about visiting Tagaytay. it was a fairly good reason to get away from Baguio's hustle and bustle as well as a perfect time spend the long holiday. At that point, i was not sure why I was being dragged into coming to the trip along with a couple more souls.|We, my girlfriend actually, found the resort from a website. It meets(almost) all of the demands of his colleagues which are mostly about amenities/facilities/services that they all cannot live without (e.g. wi-fi, inhouse toilet and bath, swimming pool, bar or fridge, restaurant). Also it should be able to accomodate as much people as it can and most important factor pf all, it has to fit with our tight budget (i for one is considered a cheapskate lol) we booked a room reservation that is good for four but we were actually six so we had to pay for the 2 extra person which is alright since they will provide extra bed, towels and blanket. |The room was alright, looked old but was tidy when we arrived tho it was located on a separate building. we had to exit the lobby/reception, walk downstairs to the pool, the take another set of stairs going down. It wasnt fun since the weather that day was not nice to us, winds rain and all soaked us. By the way, another reason why we chose the place was because of their claim about having a resident chef that is renowned in Luzon if not the entire Philippines. sadly he was not there at that time and we also forgot to ask his whereabouts. |Experience: all the staff were very nice to us during our stay even when some people in our group were rowdy and sometimes intentionally showing signs of being disgruntled guests, otherwise they were just scared of us lol. (i take responsiblity for their actions and i sincerely apologize- i was the calm and adorable bloke by the way tee hee).|Along with the room of four was free breakfast for four, the other had to payfor their food obviously. Breakfast was simple and quite hearty. Itwas selection of common dishes such as corned beef, hotdog, longanisa, beef tapa, pork tocino, omellete, etc which came with rice and egg tho im not sure if coffee came with the dish. most days were spent outdoors and the only time we step on to their restaurant is during breakfast and dinner. Our first night went well when we had our dinner. We ordered pork sinigang since we need the heat of the soup due to the cold weather(storm was brewing), chicken adobo, pinakbet and lechon kawali. All food were cooked to order so it took a bit of time before it qas served. the taste was unexpectedly great and everything was good for 2-3 persons except for the lechon kawali qhich is rather small. the price on the other hand was reasonable. some/most of the dishes on the menu were not available and on our last night after travelling to laguna and back, we were starving so we went straight to order food to tame our wild bellies, it was around 11pm wheb we arrived and the restaurant was still open. much to our disappointment, we found out that food ran out except for the chicken and some pieces of pork. After contemplating and some brain storming, we asked the cook to make use of the meat left to come up with the most holliest and fantastic staple of Filipino food which is adobo!we barely survived that night but thanks to the cook's effort, we made it thru with rice, chicken adobo and pork adobo. i still dream of that night until now and it never fails to put a smirk on my face. Anyway, all in all it was a wonderful experience though could have been better if there was enough planning on our part. the resort on the other hand have to address the issue about always running out of food. Cheers and goodluck to everyone on their...
Read moreWe stayed in Aroma Tagaytay Hotel last May 23-24,2015 for an out-of-town weekend vacation with my family. The place was good. The parking was very steep and felt like you are riding in a rollercoaster when you go down the parking slot. It had a pool which is great! My family spent most of their time in the pool because it was so hot that day. The rooms are clean and so as bathrooms. The aircon's power plug was a bit loose so it was turning on and off at some point. However, the stay turned from good to very bad around 12 midnight or so. Power went off suddenly and when we checked it was only at Aroma and not the nearby establishments. When we called reception to check, we were informed that Meralco was already fixing the issue. When I asked if they have generator,|the staff said they have a generator but could not carry the load for the whole hotel. This answer surprised me since they should have a generator that could support the hotel for cases like this. It was very inconvenient that night since it was so hot and all of us cannot sleep well. The power came back up only at around 7am the next day. It was a very...
Read moreThis place ain't such a bad choice if you're planning to stay outdoors most of the time. I stayed here for a night with my friends and there were no hassles at all since the place is conveniently located near the rotunda and just a five-minute drive to Starbucks and Picnic Grove. There were five of us back then and the offered room rate was really affordable for groups (I suggest you check their website) - not a bad deal given that the place already has a pool and a free breakfast for two. Breakfast is served as early as 5am onwards - nothing special about it but the hotel is just beside The Wicked Waffle so we had our cravings satisfied there. WiFi is only available in the common area. Do not expect too much though since this is not a five-star hotel to begin with and you really get what you paid for. But the good thing is, the staff were really accommodating. It is just beside Lee Boutique Hotel and...
