We tried Lavaly because it was conveniently located on the second floor of the Food Alley at Eco Containers Hotel where we were staying, and we didnât want to drive in the pouring rain. Craving something warm, we ordered their pho, expecting a comforting mealâbut unfortunately, it didnât quite hit the spot.
I asked if they had basil, as we were only given sprouts on the side, even though the menu and reviews showed basil should be included. They told us they had run out. However, later on, a group of Chinese or possibly Vietnamese foreigners dined in, and their pho were served with basil. By then, we had already finished eating, and when I asked why we werenât given any, I never got a clear answer.
Adding to the inconvenience, they didnât accept GCash or card payments at the time, so we had to drive in the rain to find an ATM just to pay in cash. At that point, we should have just dined elsewhere since we had to drive anyway.

We went here at night on Dec. 26, 2024 , the food is good, simple place but has a nice ambiance.

We plan to go back to Lavaly because we want to taste the Pho Bo, their best seller according to the staff. It so happened it was not available when we...

They taste like the ones we tried in Vietnam, so fresh and flavorful. For the drinks, we tried the Pinky Sunset (dragonfruit smoothie) and Iced Salted Coffee. The coffee tastes authentic, but I find it more sweet (without much hint of the salty balance to it) than the ones I tried in Vietnam. The serving size is big and good for sharing. Will definitely come back here when we're craving...
