This hotel is located next to the Roman walls of Évora, 1hour away from Lisbon and only 5-10min walking distance to the Giraldo square (central square). When we arrived to the hotel the staff was really kind and explained everything about the hotel facilities. We've stayed in a nice room in the upper floor with a good view of the pool area and to the roman walls, the room had a nice cosy feeling and the bed was really comfortable, big and spacious and the bathroom had it's decor with alentejo hand painted tiles. Both this and their other hotel are definitely good places to relax and disconnect from the rest of the world! We´ve enjoyed a lot of the outside pool as the weather was just amazing. In the morning we went to have a lovely buffet breakfast at the other terrace, everything was nicely prepared. During our stay everybody was enjoying some sanwiches and snacks around the pool but we wanted to try the hotel restaurant, we already had checked their menu before going so we already knew what we wanted... but one of the traditional dishes (migas com carne de porco) was not available anymore... I've asked the waiter and he was kind to ask the Chef who was really nice to prepare it for us. Overall the restaurant experience was YUMMY! Unfortunately in the evening we've received some bad news and had to leave the hotel to Barcelona in the first flight available. The hotel staff showed really sensitive to this issue and prepared us a take-away quick breakfast. We have to thank the staff for all the special attention...

While the hotel’s location inside the city walls is convenient and the restaurant served a surprisingly good dinner, that’s unfortunately where the positives end.||The service throughout our stay was slow, unhelpful, and at times, outright rude. Staff were largely inaccessible and unwelcoming—no one greeted us, offered assistance, or even acknowledged us during basic interactions. At one point, the lights in the main common area were turned off while we were still sitting there, which felt incredibly dismissive.||Our room was dated and poorly maintained. We found broken glass under the bed, dirty glasses were left behind after the room was “cleaned,” and the bedroom terrace, which is marketed as a perk, was unusable—covered in bird droppings, with no cushions or attempt at cleanliness. The beds were uncomfortable and not what you’d expect at this price point.||This hotel is simply not deserving of its 4-star rating. For the cost, guests should expect at least a baseline of comfort, cleanliness, and courteous service—none of which were delivered. I would not recommend staying here until significant improvements are...
