We know Joaquim a long time ago and his restaurant Dom Joaquim. When we've heard that his wife Laura was going to open a different concept restaurant just in front we were very curious to try it.... unfortunately it passed a bit too much time since it opened till we came to this place but we were finally there... The restaurant has a portuguese PETISCOS concept, commonly (incorrectly) compared with the spanish tapas... But in Portugal the petiscos can be served either cold or hot and normally in nice and generous portions. Off course this place would not be different... we've ordered several items. some scrambled eggs with farinheira (typical Alentejo smoked sausage made with flour, pork fat and seasonings), a cheese inside puff pastry with honey and nuts, some other scrambled eggs with asparagus and shrimp with honey and coriander... everything was DELICIOUS!!! I've enjoyed so much the farinheira scrambled eggs that I had to repeat... and again DELICIOUS! A place to come back every day (if possible)... Thanks for having us and for the friendly staff that was always checking if we needed anything. Super...

My husband went walking around following some internet guide, until he found a table available at "Dona Laura"! A modern decor, pleasant ambient music, invited the guests not to be loud and boisterous, which was quite nice and not very usual in Portugal! The service was excellent, and proper attention to detail - even how the plates were collected from the table at the end of the meal- just like a 5 star hotel - was another pleasant detail to be noted! The Tapas concept would not be my choice for a "wedding anniversary dinner date", however, the hot starters are served as an individual portions, so we both chose a really nice pepper steak loin, and a puffy salmon pastry, which were divinal! Great quality ingredients, excellent presentation of the dishes, and attention to detail made our date...
Read moreMy experience at Dona Laura was great! The food was very good, and the prices were extremely reasonable. I highly recommend getting the garlic shrimp and pepper steak. For dessert, the passion fruit mousse was delicious. The staff at the restaurant were very kind and helpful. Originally, we had a reservation for a previous day, but because of train strikes, we were unable to make the trip to Evora. However, we went three days later and were able to get a table when the restaurant opened without a reservation. Definitely eat here if you are making the...
