Hospedaria Firmino Bernardino — Hotel in Aljezur

We were little skeptical about the Hospedaria after having read previous reviews. However we needed a place to stay in Odeceixe so we thought we would try it. |We passed by to inquire about the availability and the price, and a very sweet lady (our Portuguese non existent) at the reception showed us the room on the ground floor without the balcony but private bathroom for 45 euros a night. And we accepted and were so glad we did! The window looked out to the field and had a nice Western exposure. The room wasn't huge but good size with a huge closet to store all our things. The bathroom was decent size as well. It could be little stuffy with the windows closed but there are no bugs so we slept with our windows open. Very quiet, very clean with fresh towel change and cleaning everyday. There is a shared roof top with a couple of small tables and chairs to lounge around and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the hill. The town is tiny and literally 3 min stroll would take you to the main square, so it's located very centrally but away from the "'noise". We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to travelers looking for a clean, comfortable budget...

You should not advertise this property, it is a stain to a reputable website like yours. Hospedaria Firmino Belarmino, Odeceixe is an atrocious establishment with an abominable proprietor who is extremely rude and arrogant and completely lacks the ability to deal with people. We arrived at the place within the agreed time slot and were left waiting for over 2 hours in the rain. Several attempts to contact her via landline, mobile and Facebook messages were unsuccessful. When the proprietor finally decided to arrive, we voiced our distress at the circumstances and she reacted aggressively and rudely and denied us entrance to the property. We ended up having to drive back home for 3 hours. The establishment smells of cigarette smoke and sewers and has cigarette buts in plant pots with no plants. An embarrassment to national tourism. PLEASE: DON’T SLEEP HERE!!! Do yourself a favour and avoid this place: I had the worst experience of my life, nightmare night with dog barking all night long, dead insects on the floor and worst thing were BED BUGS! The cleaning is really poor, and once you make it notice to the owner she falls from the clouds as it is something new, while after searching the reviews of this place there are only complaints for the same topics. The lady simply doesn’t care at all and only wants your money, and once you ask for at least a partial refund she disappears. Shame on her! I only booked this place cause there were no other options available, but if I knew it was this bad, I would have better slept on the street. Watch out for this scam, don’t...
