Blue Sky — Restaurant in Aljezur

A fantastic evening for 2, great service, excellent food, and a wine selection that was spot-on. We arrived after a long 8-hour walk, and sat down wearily. Immediately we were asked if we wanted 2 large beers, to which the answer was a resounding 'yes' - and they promptly arrived. We got changed for dinner, and went back to the restaurant for food. Some of the menu choices seemed 'interesting', but we went for standard fare - pizza to start, then tuna and cod for mains. The pizza was superb - crisp, flavorful, and just enough to whet the appetite. For the mains the cod was good, but the tuna was utterly superb, with mango and broccoli, with a little soy dressing. Seriously, try it! The white wine recommended was local, crisp, and piquant - like a pinot, but without the acidic taste. But the highlight was the desert - a Brazilian delicacy, a caramel chocolate cake. Oh wow! My girlfriend and I have been talking about that for the past 20 minutes! The service was great too, although only one guy to serve everyone - not all of the patrons were understanding, which was disappointing to watch. Ultimately, a superb place. Came here to have lunch with my girlfriend (asked for a salad and a burger) After almost an hour of wait, one waiter came to say he was sorry and to wait a little bit more, meanwhile, the head waiter started telling him to don’t mind us that we were just clients and that we should not be annoyed by the wait. After this I started telling him that I would just pay for the drinks and that I would go out to another restaurant, to which he started yelling, calling me stupid and that he would call the police, saying that the food will still take 10 more minutes and that I had to just go sit and have patience.

Then he said that the burguer was taking a lot of time because it is one of the best burguers in Portugal and that this isn’t McDonald’s. The burguer was average, had better at McDonald’s.

Great location in the main square and was very busy. Sat down before 8.30pm. Ordered drinks and food shortly afterwards. Received drinks quite quickly. House wine was below average compared to other restaurants nearby. Noticed that many tables were slow to be served and table next to us waited over 1 hour for two pizzas. We eventually complained after 1 hour 15 mins and we were told some made up story about our order being misplaced. They offered us some snacks. I've never done this before in my life but after 1.5 hours, my wife and I left €10 to cover drinks and walked out. We didn't want to eat after 10pm. I cannot rate the food as I did not have any.
