Hotel Termas — Hotel in Chaves

A group of us stayed here on Motor bikes in October 14 for 8 nights, the twin rooms were perfect for us with TV's that we didn't actually use, Air Con that we did use and the en-suite was adequate.||The rooms were kept spotless and made up every day by the cleaners and the breakfast was served at a time that was convenient to us everyday which was a mixture of different bread rolls cold hams, cheeses and cakes served with fresh orange, tea & coffee.||We were charged only 30Euros per night which I thought once broken down between two of us for what we were getting was fantastic!||When you stay here be very sure to visit the beer house next door they have pretty much every conceivable European beer and some other too ! and the local brew ( Super Bock ) coming in at 1.2Euros was a " more you drink more you save" bargain !||||There is also three brilliant restaurants no more than 100 Yrds away||||Cant wait to stay here again...

The hotel is found on the first floor above a parade of shops, on the edge of the old town, adjacent to the park area where the renowned spa is located and free parking is available. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly (some may say eccentric) lady owner who gave the impression that modern systems were more of a hindrance than a help. Our room that overlooked the street was of a generous size, characterful, clean and with adequate bathroom facilities. Breakfast was typical with a range of breads, cold meats, and cakes, all served by ladies of a certain age and again suggesting the establishment remained in something of a time-warp...and there's much to be said for this! For 40 euros/night this was...

The hotel is located in the city center. Next to beautiful places and great restaurants. The accomodation has a great value, but I found it hard to sleep with a disco/pub on the ground floor with loud music and people talking in the street. Was only able to sleep after 4AM after the disco/pub closure. The breakfast was great, and the staff very attentive. A bit expensive for the overall quality...
