I stayed in this hotel in the middle of a road trip. Do to Covid, Government made it mandatory that people couldn't travel for the weekend, so I stayed for 4days. ||||From the outside it looks like the hotel looks like it needs a big refurbishment and you are going to enter a bad 60's hotel, however inside everything is shiny and new.||||The hotel is set on the outskirts of Guarda, not far from the centre, however Guarda centre is on top of a hill so if you are going without car be ready to get comfortable shoes and walk steep hills. From hotel to historical centre is 15m Climb. The best way is to walk the first street that enter the mall (yes!) and get on escalator to the top. Unfortunately I only found out this on the 2nd day..||||The Room itself has a beautiful view to the hills, however not all rooms have views. TV is standard and the Wifi is open and works good as long as you don't want to watch Netflix or Twitch streams, though VPN open them easily. (For some reason these two websites were blocked, maybe more are, but these were the only ones I found blocked, Prime worked)||||The restaurant is very nice and breakfast has everything one would want with nice food. Dinner was very tasty as well, though the price is a little expensive. (better prices in town). The bar was really pleasant but they should have a bigger television for people to enjoy things as a group (covid and all)||||Staff was nice but could be better trained especially the housekeeping. Communication between reception and housekeeping was bad having had couple of issues with my room being cleaned and sheets being changed. Also doing check in was sent to a room that wasn't made. Other then that the woman receptionist and the skinny male receptionist were polite. The more strong male receptionist didn't know about the rules and recommended me a restaurant outside of the area I could travel (Good thing I checked). The best staff were all in the restaurant. Blonde waitress was very polite being there serving breakfast and also the barman who made a really good drink for me but also served me dinner in the bar and was a very good waiter.||||Last thing I want to comment is in this area there are some kind of beetles that are common to the area. They are not dangerous, (they squirt a smell if you attack them which is not toxic but those smell the room) they are very annoying though as they make noise when flying and will wake you up if you are a light sleeper. They don't scare easily and are very easy to kill however there are a lot of them. There wouldn't be such an issue if the hotel had a good outside. As they enter through under the window still. The hotel needs a big refurbishment on the outsides.||||Overall this hotel has many things to improve but still a good enough...
Read moreWe were on a motorcycle tour of span and Portugal and made a decision to stay at this hotel. Whilst the rooms and areas were clean, tidy and of a good standard, the staff were like cardboard. Unhelpful, unfriendly and a different version of Portuguese people that we had not previously encountered.|A friendlier approach would have ensured a higher mark for the rating but everything appear too much trouble....it wasn't like they were busy. Very poor customer service would not...
