After a long day on the road we were very happy to find such a quaint, well priced and well located hotel. Hotel Santos is literally built up against and among the old fortifications. The main sights (cathedral etc) are within 3-4 minute walk at the most. ||||As Guarda is a medieval town, the streets are quite narrow and mostly 1way but we didn't have any issues finding the hotel itself. Parking was a bit of a concern but we safely left our vehicle near the Police Station about 200 meters from the hotel entrance. Parking was paid but affordable. ||||The room itself was quite basic and as other reviews have stated it is focused on function rather than fashion. We were very pleased with our room as it was exactly what we were after. ||||Breakfast was a feast, there were several servers to help you pick out what you'd like. There was plenty of choice on offer from breads to croissants to toast, yoghurt, cereal etc. The setting for breakfast (on the top floor, accessible via elevator or stairs) was beautiful as well. ||||All in all this was a very good stay for us, no frills but we loved the location and small town feel. The staff was very friendly and check-in was easy despite a language barrier (which is on us, we don't speak...
Read moreIts an old stylish hotel, really well located, cleaning service provided everyday and the breakfast is acceptable. The price is really affordable. We could manage to park the car around the hotel without the necessity to pay but is a question of luck. The room had a portable air con unit which we have not used but if needed is not handy, should have a fixed installation. Even in the peak of summer we could rest without a problem. Our room also needed some refurbishment, toilet painting at least. Maybe some improvement in the breakfast options with fresh cooked eggs, homemade croissants etc etc. For me it would be...
