Beachhouselagos — Hotel in Lagos

Wrong advertising here, this is an upscale Youth hostel type, clearly not a B&B as it is not owner's most important focus.||Great welcome though, very attentive, friendly and resourceful, indeed help you to locate great restaurant and tour, help you with booking and so on. Fluent in English and German. May speak other languages.||Pros: |- great location, 5' walking to a sandy beach and 10' to harbour by car.|- nicely renovated and clean with new design property, indeed has a certain charm|- All rooms seems to have private balcony and sharing options with view.|- Pool available |- Parking spot opposite street free|- B'fast included, we give a 5/5 on fresh squeezed Orange juice served on table.|- Mosquito net available (important)|- Great social environment|- Private entrance||Con's:|- Pool was not clean, sadly...|- Wifi not working if upstairs.|- no Air con' nor Fan at all so expect sweating at night and therefor not getting a complete resting and comfortable sleep.|- Mattresses are extremely soft, so if you are used to a medium to firm style of support, not the best sleeping experience. Poor quality bed, yet looks new so poor investment from owner for the comfort of their guests.|- Linen are wrong size, too small, will not remain in place and therefore jeopardize your comfort.|- make sure you get your shower first when back from the beach or else no more hot water if property is fully booked.|- Breakfast extremely basic for a so called Bed & Breakfast. This should be a key factor in this experience, contain is valued to less than 5€/pers. Nothing great to impress either if you have sweet or saviour teeth.||So overall, if you are a backpacker between 18 to 25, sure, enjoy the ride but if you need comfort and amazing experience, keep searching other properties.||Sadly, as a travel agent, will not recommend nor return. The owners are very warm and helpful. They try everything to help and offered us beach umbrellas throughout the one week stay. Very homely feel staying there. Even before arriving they were always helpful and ready to answer your questions on email. Superb service. ||Breakfast was a spread and the owner would make fresh scrambled eggs for you when you come down for breakfast and serve fresh orange juice ||Parking is convenient, it is right outside the estate. ||Very close to meia praia beach. 5 mins by walking. 5 mins drive to golf course. ||We took up a standup paddling guided trip with them recommended by the owner and it was great and very value for money as I believe other places were more expensive.||The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and neat. Design is modern. And a cleaner comes in to clean the room everyday. ||However I think the rooms could be better with air con as some nights were rather warm and we didn't sleep too well. We couldn't open the windows as well as a lot of mosquitoes came in when we open it for one night. That night when we opened the windows, we got a lot of noise from the cars passing by all night till 2am and people walking on the street. So aircon and mosquito screen could be a nice...

Well located and comfortable, Beach House Lagos was the first stop on our two week Portugal adventure. The innkeepers were very hospitable and helpful, and were happy to assist us in making any arrangements or reservations that we needed, including a sailing excursion that was very memorable. The Inn is away from the city center, but is by no means out of the way. There is a rail station directly across, and Meia Praia lay just beyond. Public access to the beach is a short walk away. A handful of restaurants are located nearby, however Marco, the Beach House's resident chef, prepares a nice breakfast complete with eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice. Our accommodation had a private bath, which included a full bathtub, that sat directly across the hall from our room. The room was clean and well-lit, with plenty of storage and electrical outlets. Best of all, we had a private balcony with sea views. We loved this place, and would definitely recommend it to sun loving couples who are looking to get a good bang...
