What an incredibly beautiful beach. At nearly 5km long, it doesn’t feel crowded, even late August. The water is pretty warm, by Portuguese standards, and clean. And the sand is just so soft. Beach loungers to rent with shade at €6 each are available and are the perfect way to spend the day. Someone commented that they are far from the water, but I wouldn’t agree with that - they feel close enough to me. Life guards are in attendance, which is reassuring. And today, we were fortunate enough to see a pod of dolphins swimming just offshore. There are also a number of bars / restaurants that back onto the beach. I would recommend the end away from Lagos, parking by Bar Quim, as it is that little bit quieter. Will be sad to...
Read moreIn my opinion, this is the best beach in Portugal. I am a person that prefers beaches that are not crowded therefore this is the one. Not because it has no people - it does - but since its is so wide that even in August you easily get a spot just for you at anytime. It is not so warm as other beaches in the east of Algarve but for me that is good because you can actually handle the heat, and even the typical noon wind helps. Easy parking anytime as well. Clean, crystal water. The magnificent city of Lagos is just nearby. Read moreReally this little pretty beach, for surf session when conditions allowed it's really nice, as you guess if conditions are good there something too many surfers in the water. There is nice beach bar around, you can enjoy a morning fresh jump in the water (super healthy) or a sunset time ( sunset is on the other side but the sky takes beautiful pink colors sometimes), a nice walk or chasing some beautiful shells.
