Travelled over the world with- and without kids. NEVER felt so unwelcomed at a place.
Not a family friendly place to stay. This place is NOT recommended, especially if you have children! MàHouse guesthouse should not ad-vertise that they welcome families. When our children went to the toilet by themselves and made some noise twice in the hall (that's what kids do), the owner threatened that we would be evacuated from the guesthouse if we do not keep our kids quiet and we should not leave them unsupervised. Sorry but the toilet was 3 meters from our room and our children are independent enough to go to the toilet by them-selves. Advertise in your hotel information that children should be leashed like a dog and cannot make a sound during the day. Fine for me, at least we would have known NOT to book this place.
Noisy place at night. While there were complaints that our children make noise during the day/in the afternoon; in the middle of the night when other guests are getting ready to leave, room- and bathroom doors were slammed sev-eral times. So far for a good night rest. Moreover, the neighbor had a dog which was barking all night long. When closing the window the room became too hot, given that there is no air conditioning.
Limited attention to SAFETY of the guests as covid rules not respected. While the house even has a shared bathroom, no negative covid test or vaccine certificates were requested. When we mentioned this to the owner he said he was 100% sure this was fine as he made the assumption we were on international flights, while we were NOT. Then all of a sudden he did wanted to see certificates, while if we were infected we could already spread the virus in the guesthouse and bathroom. MàHouse Guesthouse reaction on this: we were in a rush at check-in (?!). Funny how this guesthouse blames their own guests for them NOT following government rules. Rush or no rush health and safety are critical and important at all times. Moreover, the owner was walking without a mask at some point as well when he came to tell us our children are too noisy.
Shared bathroom was not indicated in the guesthouse description on booking.com. Otherwise, we would NEVER booked this place.
Hotel information on booking.com stated that every room has a own patio. This was not the case for our room. Even the garden could not be used on a Sunday. Also at arrival, we did not even get a tour of the guesthouse, leaving us with no information where the garden was and where our children could go outside.
Based on how they have threated us, we are sure MàHouse guesthouse will not use any of above points as constructive feedback to potentially improve the customer experience. Just sharing our experience on this place with those who...

Read moreNice friendly welcome. Clean throughout. The tall mirror in the room is too low. I could not see to comb my hair. The problem with this place is the shared bathroom. Had I realised this when I booked I would have stayed elsewhere. As an ageing male I need to go to the bathroom two or three times a night. The frustration of having to get up, get dressed, go to the bathroom and then reverse the process is a bit much. Gone are the days when people travelled with a dressing gown in their luggage. With the advent of Ryanair and Easyjet there is no room in the luggage. Positives is that it is close to the airport.
The response from the owner took 17 months to arrive and seems to blame me for not liking the place. I am not a very tall person and so when I say that I could not see to comb my hair in the mirror I think that a little attention could be paid to my constructive criticism rather than being slammed for trying to help. I will leave the rating just as it was but am not impressed by the...
