The Residences Vilamoura — Hotel in Loulé

Stayed here in October. Absolutely loved the apartment which really has all the comfort you need. Living room is spacious and offers enough room to comfortably sit 6 people or more. The TV has a wide selection of international channels including French, English, German and Dutch channels. The kitchen has all the appliances you might need to prepare meals for a larger group, including a large kitchen and freezer. The only negative was the bed which was really uncomfortably hard. When you reserve an apartment it comes with 2 parking spots in the underground parking lot. The resort has a large outdoor pool (not heated and relatively cold in October). We have been holidaying at The Residences for ten years now, returning every October. On each visit, we have found it such a delight to return and receive such a wonderful, friendly welcome from all the staff here. The staff at The Piazza Restaurant are always so happy, friendly and welcoming where nothing is ever too much trouble. They work incredibly hard. The rooms are spacious, bright and beautifully laid out and the daily cleaning service is amazing. I think it is very unfair of the negative comments I have read. If you want entertainment then please go and stay at a hotel, the idea of a self catering establishment is just that, you entertain yourself! Bang average Apartments. Large, very clean and well equipped. However, staff were particularly unhelpful. Especially offering a 'complimentary shuttle' which was only free for the first 6 passengers. Then, hereafter would book you a taxi with a firm that charge €17 to get to the Marina, which is a 5 minute drive. Ended up spending most of our holiday in Ubers. Was slightly disheartened on arrival also to find no free tea, coffee or drinking water with the nearest shop being in the marina and having to taxi there.
