Furnaka Village — Hotel in Lourinhã

Location is not good, as its rather far from the beach, and also kind of separated from the town. Also the pictures looked like you would have a lot of space for yourself, but the apartments are very close to each other and share one green space and pool in the middle - you can hear your neighbours all the time. What made things worse was that there was a party in the apartment next to us. Apparently the location also offers space for parties, so we could not really use the pool as it was full of party guests who later left it full of grass leaves. We also had to park on the street outside rather than the parking lot, because they had so many guests. Loud music and talking also went on very late into the night.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. She offered to do something about the noise in the afternoon, but since she said it would be over until 8 p.m., we didn‘t ask her to. However, she was wrong, and it was very loud during the night. Since there is no reception after 7 p.m. we didn‘t know what to do about it.

There are many nice places in Portugal, but this really wasn‘t one of them. Go somewhere...

The best thing about this place was the cat who greeted us at the front gate. Reception was empty for the entirety of our stay. And to try to get ahold of someone to get into our room was a struggle. Once we finally made it in, we were greeted with an extremely musty/moldy smell that was pretty close to unbearable. We put our bags in our room and when we went back a couple hours later and picked them up, three HUGE bugs scurried away. Upon closer inspection, ants were also quickly moving in because of the rain outside. The tv in the living room looks like someone punched it. And there was a new one sitting in an unopened box on the floor. Guess we were expected to set that up? Even though we loved the cat, we didn't really appreciate the poop next to the pool. Overall, the experience was terrible. Save yourself the time and trouble and book somewhere else. We ended up going to Casa das Barcas which was an incredible experience. Maybe make a pitstop here to see the cat though. It was very sweet...

Accommodation was will equipped location close to town but sadly on an industrial estate!! 4th bedroom had NO door!! Even if a child's room even more important to have a door!! Health and safety issues - all raised terrace areas (6 steps high) had no safety railings at all!! Not great for children. Lounge only had 2 2 seater sofas for a property that can sleep 12 people!! More than enough space to add another larger sofa. No table sat more than 6 so again not ideal. Also not all beds made up!! Also no mosquito nets everyone got eaten alive on first night until we kept all windows shut and sprayed everywhere which wasn't great as no air conditioning!! Would consider alternate accommodation if returned to the area as was expensive for what we...
