We stayed as a couple for one night in a double room with river view. Our room was on the ground floor right opposite the pool, so it was noisy at times from the pool area. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but I wouldn’t say that it was going above and beyond. There is a café with terrace that was nice for drinks and light snacks (tuna sandwich!). The hotel has some outdoor parking and the location is convenient to walk into town. Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable, but for the price of 95€/night you’d expect a mini fridge as well. The room felt a bit humid/damp at times and the wall in our room seemed to have had damp issues as the paint had peeled off, it wasn’t pretty to look at and could have easily been repaired, which again, is a bit of a shame given the nightly price. The pool is very nice, however the glass railings surrounding it were dirty/stained which overall gave it a bit of used look. All in all we had a good stay but it would be good for the hotel to make certain improvements. Given the nightly rate, this should be possible one would think…

I stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Museu while bicycle touring Portugal November, 2017. A great hotel! Big room, fast WiFi in the room, AC worked outstanding and the front desk staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. In the middle of the lobby of the hotel is an open glass floor where people can look down into the ruins of a Roman villa that was discovered during excavation for the foundation of of the hotel. Visitors can go down below and visit the ruins. I loved the historical perspective and pictures everywhere of the discovery and how they dealt with it to protect it.

Digo isto pelo seguintes motivos: O check-in é as 15h, e so mesmo as 15h... No quarto, algumas falhas. Vejam as ofertas e tirem as vossas conclusões.

We spent four nights in this hotel during our birding tour. Our room was clean and well-maintained, the bed was comfortable, with enough good pillows to keep my happy, and there was wifi. However, the room was small, and there were only two very small bed stands and one small, narrow table on which we could put things. There were some drawers in the closet, but only a few coat hangers which were insufficient for two people spending four nights. We had to ask three times before we were given some additional ones. The bathroom was our biggest problem. For some reason, we were given a handicapped room, which we didn't need. The toilet was high enough that my feet could barely reach the floor. The sink was not set in a counter, so there was no place to put our toilet articles, and we had to use the plastic seat which was intended to be used in the shower for a shelf. The shower was the worst part. The walls could be folded and were not securely fastened to the base, so if you leaned on them, they could collapse, and they leaked water onto the floor outside. The stall was small enough that while washing, you could inadvertently hit the faucet handle and turn the water off. I can't say I ever enjoyed a shower during our stay. On the plus side, there was a very nice breakfast buffet which was served in an...

This is a fascinating location built over the excavations of a house from well more than 700 years ago. There are views of this from inside the hotel and options to get closer, though all is protected by plexiglass barriers.|There is an interesting library area near the reception that's well worth checking out. They allow you to take books to your room. Please remember to return them.|The rooms - the first room was so small the door wouldn't open past halfway without being stopped by the bed. There was also an electric panel next to the bed that buzzed non-stop all night long.|The second room was much better. It was larger and the electric panel was far from the bed. The biggest drawback is, and apparently this is true of some other rooms, the shower floor has a surface that could be well used as an artificial ice skating rink. The most slippery surface I have ever encountered. They have non-slip mats at the reception, not in the rooms! Ask for one before you find out how much you wish you had. When I told them about how slippery it was they eventually responded by saying they had installed non-slip surface in the showers. One wonders at their definition of non-slip, or whether they had been told that but had not themselves given it a try out. Perhaps the non-slip part was next to the floor instead of...
