Casa da Alegria — Hotel in Mafra

I had a lovely five day Stay at the house with a friend booked via Airbnb. The house itself is beautiful and the location is perfect. However, days after we already checked out, we had an unpleasant communication with the host that ruined the experience for us. While our stay was really pleasant, and our communication and relationship with the host was friendly all throughout, the only incident that we had was that my friend and I smoked a cigarette on a balcony we did not realize was designated as an non smoking area. When the host sternly told us this was a non-smoking area we apologised profusely for the mistake and quickly moved to the garden to the smoking corner and only smoked in that area from there on out. We also spoke with the hosts in person about anything that we needed, and they were even kind enough to let us use some of their work equipment to take some work calls from our room. We left them a very positive review on Airbnb. However a week after we checked out we were extremely surprised that they left us a negative review saying that we were disrespectful to them. Considering that we spoke with the hosts in person every day through throughout our stay, we were surprised to be left such a review after the fact, and this has left a very bad taste in my mouth. The owner of this hotel had requested our check in time prior to arrival which we estimated to be around 8pm from Lisbon. When we arrived at the bus terminal in ericeira at 8:20, I called him for more direction on how to get to the hotel and he claimed we were late to arrive and that he wasn’t ‘my slave’ and that he would not have us stay and we would need to cancel our booking.

So incredibly rude and pretty much the worst thing you could do to someone who is travelling and exhausted and lost their luggage etc etc.

Luckily we found a much better place in the center of town for a better price with super lovely people hosting us and walking distance to all the good restaurants/ nightlife/ surfing in a ericeira called Vinnus Guest house - highly recommend!

Los anfitriones de Casa Da Alegria fueron tan amables y han hecho una labor increíble por mantener y cuidar cada espacio. Ellos administran esta residencia desde el verano del 2021 y de verdad te hacen sentir en casa.

Los bellos jardines de Casa da Alegria con rinconcitos para descansar esparcidos a todo su alrededor y las tardes perfectas con sus puestas de sol que puedes ver desde sus jardines, hacen de este Airbnb un lugar que te llevas en el corazón y grabado en la memoria.

Habitaciones con vista al mar, alberca de agua cálida y cristalina, verdes pastos y una arquitectura única, harán de tu paseo a Portugal justo lo que estas buscado, una mezcla entre la relajación, el comfort y la naturaleza.

Las habitaciones con un toque chic-artístico te harán sentir en casa! Ademas, la terraza en el patio a un lado de la alberca son el espacio perfecto para comenzar el día con un cafecito y terminarlo con una platica amena de tus experiencias por el bello Portugal y porque no, utilizando el asador para cocinar una cena deliciosa.

El centro de Ericeira esta a a unos minutos de esta casa, y realmente necesitaras un auto, porque la carretera no es tan cómoda para los peatones, con subidas y bajadas.

Para quien busca un espacio que reúne el comfort de casa con el lujo de una mansion en la playa, Casa Da Alegria es el mejor lugar en Ericeira! Estamos listos para regresar, porque nos quedamos enamorados de la amabilidad de los anfitriones y la belleza...
