Ethic'Surf House — Hotel in Peniche

Spacious and clean apartment. On the roadside and summarily insulated (double glazing, on original joinery and wooden door). Cold!! (end of April, beginning of May) and NOISY !! all day. If you are inside it becomes very disturbing. Access to a patio which is quite pleasant. The atmosphere between the tenants was cordial and calm. On the other hand, in one month of rental 3 nights were removed from us. Elise, the owner, without warning us, decided to extend evenings, until 2 am on two occasions and more than 4 am the day before our last day. When we asked her to stop (several times between 1am and 4am) she greeted us disrespectfully and aggressively, drunk. It could have escalated if one of the surf instructors present at the evening would not have intervened to close it and we could finally go to bed. Her apologies the following day were accompanied by: "but, maybe you were not suited for this style of accommodation". Now, if you are 34 years old and want to get up in the morning (having slept) this is not the surf house for you.

Appartement spacieux et propre. En bord de route et sommairement isolé (double vitrage, sur menuiseries et porte bois d'origines). Froid!! (fin Avril début Mai) et BRUYANT!! toute la journée. Si vous êtes à l’intérieur cela devient très dérangeant. Accès à un patio qui est assez agréable. L'ambiance entre les locataires était cordiale, et calme. Par contre, en un mois de location 3 nuits nous ont été supprimées. Elise, la propriétaire, sans nous prévenir, à décider de prolonger des soirées, jusqu’à 2 heures du matin en deux occasions et plus de 4 heures la veille de notre dernière journée. Quand nous lui avons demandé d’arrêter (à plusieurs reprises entre 1h et 4h du matin) elle nous a reçu de façon irrespectueuse et agressive, ivre. Cela aurait pu dégénérer si un des moniteurs de surf présent à la soirée n'aurait pas intervenu pour la clôturer et qu'on puisse finalement se coucher. Ces excuses du lendemain étaient accompagnées de: "mais vous n'étiez pas adaptées pour ce style de logement". Voilà, si vous avez 34 ans et envie de vous lever le matin (en ayant dormi) ce n'est pas le surf house qu'il vous faut.

Apartamento espacioso e limpo. Situado em borda de estrada e com isolamento sumàrio (vidros duplos, caixilharia e porta de madeira de origem). Frio!! (final de abril, início de maio) e BARULHENTO !! durante todo o dia. Acesso a um logradouro bastante agradavel. A atmosfera entre os inquilinos era cordial e calma. Por outro lado, num mês de aluguer, tiraram-nos 3 noites. Elise, a proprietária, sem nos avisar, decidiu prelongar as festas nocturnas, até as 2 da manhã em duas ocasiões e mais de 4h no dia anterior ao nosso último dia. Quando lhe pedimos para parar (várias vezes entre 1h e 4h) ela recebeu-nos de forma desrespeitosa e agressiva, bêbada. Poderia ter sido bem pior se um dos instrutores de surf presentes na festa não tivesse intervido para que esta terminasse e pudéssemos finalmente ir para a cama. As desculpas no dia seguinte foram acompanhadas por: "mas vocês não era adequados para este estilo de acomodação". Ora, se tem 34 anos e se quer levantar de manhã (tendo dormido), esta não é a surf...

Wonderful stay at Ethic Surf House, made even more amazing by Elise who runs the accommodation. Whether it’s hiring bikes or wetsuits, local recommendations for activities and eating or organising surf or yoga classes she does it all. So valuable having someone so helpful and charming to ask anything to. The communal courtyard is a stunning place to eat, hang out or relax in surrounded by lovely planting and areas to sit. Our two room apartment was perfect for our family of a couple and two teenage boys, cool and spacious and ideally close to many cafes and restaurants in Ferrell. Also a good walk to a local stunning beach as well as the local surfing beach and all its facilities. We had such a great stay here for a week and loved all it...

My friend and I went for a weekend in Baleal, and were truly taken away by this place. The service is unmatched, the property is so nice, well developed and truly made to feel like a home away from home and the people staying there at the same time was so friendly. Could easily see myself staying here long term! The lady that runs it, unfortunately cant remember the name, is so friendly and accommodating, and she also rents out bikes, wetsuits, boards and so on. The backyard is a piece of art itself. Baleal is truly worth a visit too, so no need to think...
