Ocean View by Azores Villas — Hotel in Ponta Delgada

We stayed in apartment 2 from 19 - 26 September.||It is a three story apartment overlooking the Atlantic in the small superb/town very close to Ponta Delgada called Sao Roque. There was free street parking each day we returned right outside.||||The apartment is located in Sao Roque, a working class neighbourhood 20 minutes walk into central Ponta Delgada. There is complimentary mountain bikes available.||||For us the location was perfect as we did not need to be located in the centre of Ponta Delgada. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach, there is a small supermarket nearby and it is slightly off the road that runs along the sea front which is very little trafficked.||||If you don't like the local working class enviroment instead wanting a tourist luxury hotel then this is perhaps not the location for you. For us it was perfect.||||You enter the property straight into the first floor consisting of a double bed and bathroom as well as a coffee table and two chairs. Here the bikes are also kept for easy access. On the second floor is a well equipped kitchen with fridge and a dining area and a view over the Atlantic. On the third floor is a room with a sofa bed and access to an approx 50 m2 terrance.||||The property is fully air conditioned with good functioning wifi.||The apartments are cleaned daily (except Sunday) by the charming and bubbly housekeeper, Noelia.|||| I can recommend...

Stayed in Azores Ocean Villas in Sao Roque just outside of Ponta Delgada. It is an independent business of a handful of properties on the island advertised on a number of websites. The hosts/contacts were very nice, courteous and helpful. In fact the circumstances had it that they were able to allow us to check in a bit early. Unit #2 is spacious and spans three floors – first floor is a mini living room with full bathtub bathroom. Second floor is eating space and mini kitchen with stove, microwave, oven and basic appliances. Third floor has an adjacent deck space and two bedrooms, one of which has a bathroom with shower. The hosts provided a welcome basket with tea, coffee, bread, cheese, milk, fruit, water. Extremely thoughtful of them to provide this to guests. They also provided us nice hydrangeas and helpful information on the island. Unit is newer in design but showed wear and tear from prior guests (headboards, couch fabric, shower stall). Also note that the parking situation is a bit tight as you have to back into stalls, but it can be navigated with patience and care. However, location is very excellent as it is central (small town nearby Ponta Delgada) and the unit was modern in design, spacious and well laid out. My husband, daughter and I stayed at this lovely ocean villa for 10 nights. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, this place felt like home. It is new, modern, beautifully decorated, sunny, spacious, and right on the water. To top that off, the price is right! It has two large bedrooms with bathrooms on separate floors, with a kitchen dining room on the middle floor. A total bonus was the excellent housekeeping service we got daily. Noellia was fantastic! She even did our laundry one day. Added to that, the property manager, Ligia, came to meet us personally, at our request. This feels like we have made new friends and will have a place to stay whenever we return. We can't wait to come back to this place again. It's definitely the best you will ever get in a home away from home!!!! ...
