We booked a vacation to 3 Azores Islands through an agency; generally I do all the booking myself, but thought I'd give an agency a shot. The day before we were to leave Faial for Terceira, I received an email stating my hotel was undergoing construction, and we were being switched to this property. I'm very glad of it.||We arrived about 10 (check in was 4), and had to wait about an hour to get into our room, but I really appreciated the early check in. The ladies staffing the front desk were really nice, for instance, my wife had lost her iPad in our travels. We mentioned it to one of the ladies, telling her it was probably left on the plane or in the gate area at the airport. While we were at lunch, she called the airport on the island where the airport was located, and found the iPad. We were able to pick it up at lost and found a couple days later when we went to our final island.||||Anyway, easy check in, and the hotel has an elevator for the mobility challenged. The property is well located, there are several decent restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We had a bay-view room, and it was nice being able to look out over the water. The room was spacious by any standards, and had a kitchenette. I've always like hotel rooms with couches because it's like lying around the house. I hate lying on the bed unless I'm sleeping. ||Parking is a bit odd, they have 3 spaces out front, and one on the side. IF you can't nab one of them, you have to park a block or two away. Not a big deal, and parking is always at a premium in the Azores. ||I'm unsure what the place cost, as it was part of a package, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable, well located, and as stated above, the staff is excellent. It's a great...

Read moreI highly recommend this hotel. It’s clean. It’s well equipped and maintained. It’s in an excellent location, literally across the street from the beach and close to everything we needed. Definitely get a room with the beach view. Any time we were in the room was usually spent sitting on the balcony watching the ocean and the beach and the city activity. It was very relaxing. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Gabriela, the manager, is doing a great job. The maids were always willing to help. The ladies in the kitchen put out an amazing breakfast. The ladies at the desk, Marina, Marisa, and Patricia, were outstanding. They helped us so much and never seemed bothered by our continuous questioning about this, that, or whatever. They gave us so much useful information that made our stay on the island that much more enjoyable. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. I will caution, however, there is a night club a few doors down that stays open very late on Friday and Saturday nights. But, the noise is not excessive. Only an incredibly light sleeper would be bothered by it. Make sure you stop into the shop next door and say Hi to Miguel. He’s got some great stuff and he is very friendly and helpful. Just past that is the Resaurant Garca. Great food; try the alcatra. Ask for Andreia; she’s great...
