Restaurante Larica — Restaurant in Praia da Vitória

I have never felt more like Anthony Bourdain in my life. This intimate 6 table restaurant let us in on a busy night to have a culinary experience beyond what we thought available in real life. The 2 saints that run this restaurant are a couple, the wife cooks, and the husband works front of house. They matched my wife and I, my wife is a vegetarian and I'm a meat eater and they were able to completely satisfy both of us. Every item selected and eaten was a miniscule piece of an overal picture. And the that picture was of isla terceira, in its stunning glory. The beef steak and pork loin was Devine, the vegetarian meal was fresh as if it were plucked from the vines mere moments before hitting the table.

This was a meal I will never forget. Not to mention the waiters multi lingual ability to meet the customer's where they are and make them feel like family.

If they work this system every night, they may be the best restaurant I've ever seen.

A true gem! We loved the food and would have happily gone back if we had more time on the island. My partner had the swordfish which was delicious and I had the piri piri chicken - some of the best French fries I've had! Reminds me of how my Portuguese grandmother makes them. The food was delicious as was the service, which was great because we came in towards the end of the night and were worried that they wouldn't be able to serve us, but the cook and the server were really kind and attentive, and our server even gave us some help with booking a taxi for the next morning. I recently had the pleasure of dining at larica, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The highlight of the evening was the owner himself, who not only runs the place but also personally ensures that every guest feels welcome and taken care of. His passion for hospitality is evident in every interaction, creating a truly warm and inviting atmosphere.

The meat was cooked to perfection, and the quality of the ingredients was outstanding. Each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this spot for anyone who appreciates not just great food, but also a genuine and personal dining experience.
