Elma Guesthouse — Hotel in Alba Iulia

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Elma Guesthouse in Alba Iulia for Easter and we had a wonderful time. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. We appreciated the attention to detail, such as the handmade wood work, incredibly clean space and complimentary toiletries.

One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful garden at the guesthouse. It was a peaceful oasis where we could relax and enjoy the sunshine.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We felt like we were staying with friends rather than in a hotel.

Perhaps this was once a 4* facility, but it is not the case anymore. The window and door are opening in a covered, communal hallway, and although there are curtains covering them, it is somewhat uncomfortable. The toilet was leaking continuously, which during night time, was quite annoying. There were not any small or normal towels in the bathroom, only two huge ones. The TV doesn't work properly. The chair was broken, the curtains don't slide well at all and the very thin carpet is placed on a slippery floor. The size of the room itself, without the bathroom, is of about 12sqm. Beyond expectations, an oasis of peace, greenery and comfort in the middle of the city. Cleanliness: impeccable. Breakfast: fabulous (everything prepared at home, the coffee - very good), the atmosphere in the breakfast room - priceless: muted music, view of the garden, the furniture, the lighting fixtures, the decorative objects made of solid wood or metal, vintage and hand made, the library on the terrace and the comfortable armchairs to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or just to enjoy the beauty around...
