The hotel location is just fine for those that want some peace after a day's touring, as it lies just off the city on the Bicaz road, and the fact that the building was set perpendicular on the road, with rooms facing sideways, makes them rather quiet. Rooms are large, well kept and correctly appointed. Staff are usually nice from my experience (well, counting 2 helpful receptionists and a rather rude one), the restaurant food was very good when we were there, and it had the homey taste most restaurant food lacks nowadays. That would be it with the pros. ||||Now the cons. They messed up their bookings of the days we stayed there, so that they overbooked and needed put some of us in their guesthouse up the road, cancel some of their other bookings and we spent over an hour with the receptionist on duty fixing it all up, actually rearranging all their bookings for the days we were staying. To his credit, the manager apologized. While everything went smoothly with our pre-booked dinners, when on of our party wanted to have dinner on his own before 4 PM, he was told the restaurant only opened later on, a bit strange I dare say.||||In the end of the day, I tend not to like places where you leave it all up to chance: whether they make mistakes or not with their bookings, whether you get there when the helpful or rude receptionist is on duty, whether the kitchen staff is there at 4 PM or at 8 PM. There are a tad too many ifs at the Oscar, as nice as the...
Read moreI live in New York City and my wife and I travel internationally for a living. This hotel is a absolute GEM. Located in the beautiful mountains about a short 5 hour drive from Bucherest, Romania, this hotel has all the style and sophistication needed to make a customer very happy. The hotel is new with very spacious rooms. The service is in classic professional Romanian tradition. The views are great and the prices are great. Listen carefully to this.. I travel the world and it is rare I give trip advisors. This hotel and more important the mountain region it is located in is a gem. Go visit and enjoy. The mountains are beautiful, food is great and the US dollar goes very far. Not only that but compared to going to major tourist destinations this is off the beaten path and gorgeous. The area this hotel is in is called Piatra Neamt. The drive from Bucherest, Romania is a beautiful 5 hours. Getting there you will go through beautiful local towns and experience the local culture. The hotel is super clean with hugh rooms, wifi and a great restaurant. GO, GO, GO and enjoy a new culture. Romanian people are beautiful, warm and you will...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights and all was well. Soundproofing good towards the outside, but very "thin" towards the inside. Noises from neighbour rooms and hallway can be heard quite well. Luckily, it was very quiet, there were no noises between 10 PM and morning. The rooms are clean and quite spacious (3rd floor, no balcony) and we liked the sensor-based light in the bathroom - no need to take care about switching it on/off. Hot water and A/C available, nothing to complain about. We didn't use the restaurant as it was quite expensive for us (prices available online). No issues with the parking: even if the one in front was full, they have another one available in front of their event center and one can also park on the side of the road if...
