We were looking for a Hotel\Spa for which the Baile Olanesti town is known for. The hotel did not have a true spa, as was advertised. The hotel pool was very small, there were now thermal nor mineral baths. In fact the town thermal baths were closed down for some local political hassle. The local thermal baths were taken over by another hotel and were no longer for general use.||||The lack of thermal\mineral baths was somewhat of a bad surprise for us, as this is what we were looking for. As we had booked from outside of Romania, we had no way of verifying if the hotel claiming to be a hotel\spa was really true. Regardless, and with a flexible change in mind, we did enjoy our stay at the “Hotel President”. ||||First the hotel is very clean, and has all of the basic accommodations, except for the lack of an elevator, little more about later. The staff was very friendly, although not everyone knew English. However, we know a little Romanian and drawings and hand signals also helped. One staff member, knew English very well. As a matter of fact he mentioned that he did not want us to leave, as he wanted to practice his English more. We enjoyed this kind of friendly banter. Except for one other person, we seemed to be the only residents in the hotel. We hardly saw anyone in the dining room, and except for one person, never saw any other guests.||||Although, the Hotel President was not what we had expected, nonetheless we did enjoy our stay there. We took a massage and although it was very inexpensive, the massage was very professionally done and I can say that the person who gave the massage could easily work anywhere in the world, she was that good. I am a 1.80m 100kg robust adult and she was very good on me. Highly recommended. ||||The restaurant was OK, claiming a very large menu, of which many items were out. As we had difficulty finding restaurants in Baile Olanesti, so we took all our meals in the hotel restaurant. My wife had ordered some kind of liver meal, but the liver was so dry that she could hardly eat it. Putting some sauce on it did help a bit. My stew was good, although somewhat on the dry side also. I had asked for some hot peppers, and the English speaking waiter offered to bring me two such peppers. They were both very hot. But strangely I was charged 0.50 Lei (local currency) for each of the two pepper, although I only asked for one. A somewhat of small surprise, but not really. In Romania all extras, generally cost. Even asking for mustard might in some places cost extra. This is very typical of Romania.||||One small incident kept me chuckling. I had asked room service for two extra rolls of toilet paper, as the room only had one partial roll. The sour faced service woman, who did not speak English, refused to give me a second roll and made clear signs that I must make due with one roll. And then left me stupidly standing at the entrance to our room. This is more humorous than problematic and makes for a smiling and somewhat strange story.||||Although Baile Olanesti is not on the tourist track we very much enjoyed the very small mountain village. And strolling around was pleasant, as the air is clear and refreshing. This is mainly a village where retired elderly people come for rest and relaxation. In fact there is an extremely inexpensive hotel in the village that caters to elderly retired people. ||||If you are in the Baile Olanesti area of Romania in the district of Vâlcea I can recommend this clean and friendly hotel. The surrounding area is beautiful.||||The WiFi did not work in all areas, although the staff and advertisements claim that WiFi is available everywhere.||||Hint: Take a room in the back. The front rooms overlook the road. The backrooms overlook the village, forest and mountains. They are much more...

Am dat doar 3 stele deoarece temperatura scazuta ( Receptie : Ok, personal amabil
Camera: Ok, spatioasa , pat mare, lumina naturala suficienta
(tempeatura exterioara -4/+6 oC , NU RECOMAND CAZAREA IN ACEASTA CAMERA IN PERIOADE CU TEMPERATURA EXTERIOARA SUB 15 oC, "caldura" a fost pornita dupa orele 20 in fiecare zi dar nu face fata cel putin in camera 111, nu stiu cum a fost in celelalte camere)
Apa calda: dureaza intre 15-20 minute pana vine apa calda (banuiesc acelasi lucru , circuit termic prea lung prost dimensionat)
