We arrived late at the hotel and we knew from the phone a price and there we find another one! We took the room without seeing it. In the room, when we entered the smell from the bathroom came suddently and hard ans we tried to resist, but after 15 minute we gave up and went to the reception. We ask to change the room or to have the money back! The lady from there ( Ioana Stoian)was like the first time (as she was doing us a favour not as an employee of the location) told us smiling that it is not possible. We ask her to come and see if she can stay in the smell from the room and she told us that she will come when she will be able to. When she finally came she told us that it is normal in Bucharest, don’t we have this at home and the air conditioner could not work if you have left the room ( she told us), so inside smelling was even worse and the hot overwhelmed. After long discussions at a high level she accepted changing the room. The coffee from the machine in the morning was poor and not drinkable even the price was not low,. So, it was an awful experience because of this emplyee, lady from reception… pity the...
Read moreThe 2 stars hotel Sir Orhideea is the same one as hotel Sir Colentin. Probably it has been renamed, but here on Tripadvisor it seems these are two different hotels. The cost of the accommodation is very affordable - around 30 € for a person/night, very good price for the Capital. The hotel is very near (5 minutes of walk) to shopping mall with many shops, restaurants and Carrefour. Rooms are clean and maintained, the towel was every day replaced. But the rooms are also very small. I was missing a chair and table I could work with my notebook on. ||Hangers in a wardrobe were few and very poor quality, without horizontal stick to hang trousers. ||Wifi is OK and free of charge. ||Nearly all rooms of the hotel have windows oriented to construction site and busy highway Pasajul Basarab. The window is only partially insulating against the noise. The roar from outside is constantly hearable in a background even with closed window. I´m attaching photos with the view from the window of the room. If you like beautiful sceneries, it´s not a place for you, in case you are not construction engineer. ;) ||Staff...
Read moreI have stayed here for a few nights, during a travel to Bucharest. The hotel is right across Orhideea Shopping centre (5 minutes walk). It is a budget hotel, with small but very clean rooms. The soundproof is good towards other rooms and to the exterior of the building (the Basarab passage is nearby). There is a problem with the soundproof towards the hall, especially when noisy people check in late at night. The bathroom has a tiny shower cabin, where you can't really open your arms to use the towel after shower. A blow drier is also to be found in the bathroom. The room has a small fridge and a wall-mounted flat screen tv. Powerfull, free wifi is provided, though I couldn't connect my phone to it. No vegan meals are offered. Free public parking in front of the hotel (5-6 places) and free...
