We spent three nights at this beachside hotel. The room was quite small but had a lovely balcony with a view of the street and parking lot below. Ours was a 4th floor room. The shower was a complicated high-tech light and sound-equipped affair that leaked onto the bathroom floor any way you used it. The bracket that held up the shower wand was loose and dropped the wand during your shower. Mildew hadn't been properly cleaned. So right away the bathroom floor was a wet bacterial mess. The toilet was not properly sealed so sewer gas backed up into the bathroom. The lingering smell of sewage, partially obscured by the sweet smell of bathroom deodorant persisted through our entire stay. The room was equipped with a mini-fridge that shut off whenever we left the room. Since the electrical outlets (which were sparse and poorly-located) were only powered when the card key was inserted, it was impossible to cool food or drink or charge any computer or telephone device when we were not in the room. We discovered that any standard card works, though, and remedied this situation. The curtains darkened the room nicely and the balcony was lovely and private. The front desk was a mixed experience. One person was rather curt and spoke no English (which is not a problem as long as we work things out with gestures--but she seemed unwilling to do so). The next day the front desk clerk was a helpful and communicative woman. Considering this hotel was priced similarly to those directly on the waterfront and several stories taller--I don't think it was a good value. Still, the...
Read moreShort review: Don't stay there. Just don't. Both the restaurant and the hotel leave a lot to be desired. Detailed review: I've been to this hotel for many years with my family as it was a decent budget choice. This year though, it was plain awful. The restaurant was the principal culprit. Food was worse than in the past and the staff members were few, extremely young and inexperienced. Therefore, a plate was brought to the table in over an hour after the order. The breakfast included in the package (buffet style) was also worse than in the past. Due to "covid protocols" people were not allowed to take the food themselves, so they were served by the staff. So, they took the opportunity to reduce the variety to less than a half. As for the hotel itself, the cleaning staff seemed basically nonexistent, refusing to change towels for several days. The location is also terrible, as right in front of the hotel there is a club which blasts high volume music until late at night. Due to the fact that the whole location is extremely unpleasant, I would recommend you choose other location than Eforie nord, but if that's not possible, please, just choose...
Read moreRoom was specious and clean, bathroom small with a shower having some broken pieces (soap dispenser, also very dirty). Breakfast poor to average, bad quality soft drinks. Staff in the restaurant where breakfast was served not cleaning tables timely, tables were also dusty and dirty all the time. Summer stuff, not very prepared. Reception people however very nice and helpful. During the night the noise is awful from restaurants across the street, loud and bad quality live music till 2-3 am. Parking can be an issue in the area, very few places in front of the hotel. We will...
