Hotel Meliss — Hotel in Craiova Metropolitan Area

In my opinion, not a 4 stars hotel, for sure!!! Breakfast is almost "absent", and the same every day!! Air cond. not working in the rooms, refrigerator not cooling, and the worst is that saturday and sunday is IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP!!!!! Believe me that I am on the last floor, 5 and I can hear all the playlist of music from the restaurant where they have events every weekend. The restaurant is at the hotel entrance. Some of the clients are coming for business and they need to sleep as they are working at 4, 5 in the morning, or they are arriving at 2,3 a.m. from work. It is impossible to rest!!!! But even if you are not at work, just visiting Craiova, you pay for a place to sleep and rest!!! You pay a 4 stars environment!!!!! Dear people, go to Ramada or other hotel that really respects it's 4 stars! I know it is more expensive, but this is not a 4 stars hotel at all!!! Bad smell in the toillet when the ventilation is on, no cleaning every day. If you are sleeping untill 12 for ex. the cleaning ladies won't come to clean your room, but they will make noise at your door by cleaning the other across or nearast rooms with the door open, and the vacuum in front of your door. After the events that they have saturday, on sunday morning they didn't have at all breakfast, and when I have asked, they said that it will take too long to cook eggs for me, and I asked for an aubergine salad alteady cooked...these days :)...I was told not to seat on the table that I choose because the restaurant is arranged for a party tonight, so I moved to another table. I've been traveling and I've seen many 4 star hotels, this is not one of them, I don't know who decides and evaluates this stars, but I consider it an offence to other hotels that really have 4 stars service, and also an offence to people that pay to have this comfort. Please check carrefuly the reviews on trip advisor before booking to Craiova. Also, the pictures of this hotel from the internet commercial, are the VIP ones, that's why they look somehow better. If you make a normal reservation, for a 4 stars room, you will get a small simple room with doble bad 1,40 m, the smallest version of the double bad. I'm just going to try to sleep tonight...while listening stupid music, and while waiting to go to work in 4 hours. It was not my decision to come here but for sure I will make a complaint and never return here. Good...

The entrance is somewhat neglected, with a visibly worn neon sign. Despite a pleasant entryway, the reception lacks information at check-in. The young Alexandra, who greeted me, was extremely helpful and professional despite her youth.||The VIP room 203 showed serious cleanliness issues: dust was clearly visible on easily reachable surfaces, and the bathroom appeared quite dated. The shower floor made disturbing noises, suggesting poor maintenance. The courtesy kit, although well presented, lacked proper shampoo and conditioner, offering only 3-in-1 containers.||The bed was comfortable, but the view was decidedly disappointing, overlooking the gray buildings of the city. The absence of a coffee machine and a rather sparse minibar further diminished the experience. Additionally, the Maitre did not speak English, causing further difficulties.||The jacuzzi, promoted as a highlight of the room, turned out to be noisy and lacking privacy, despite the presence of tags guaranteeing its sanitation. This is particularly disappointing given the importance placed on this feature. The walls of the room were thin, allowing clear hearing of TVs and other noises from adjacent rooms.||In summary, this establishment requires significant improvements to meet the expected standards for a VIP room. The professionalism of the staff, represented by Ms. Alexandra, is not enough to compensate for the numerous structural and service...

Very disappointing, would not stay again. We were in Craiova for business. Parking was already a hassle, very few spots available, so we had to park on a side street. That was manageable, but the real issue started at check-in. The receptionist was extremely unfriendly and visibly annoyed by our presence was not greeting no question like how was your Trip nothing like in normal Hotels. You really felt !not Welcome!

The room was clean, but the air conditioning was incredibly loud and didn’t cool at all. I barely got any sleep. The bed was comfortable, but the heat and noise made it unbearable.

At breakfast, I greeted the staff with a friendly “Good morning” I was completely ignored. No response, not even a glance. It felt deeply disrespectful.

Finally, during check-out, my colleague (who can be a bit direct) was treated very rudely. He asked to check out early the next morning, and the receptionist snapped at him in a completely unprofessional tone: “You are not checking out you pay now, you will Check out Tomorrow morning!” unacceptable.

Overall, there is no sense of hospitality here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone there are far better options in Craiova like...
