Europa — Hotel in Drobeta-Turnu Severin

Away from the city center on the side of a main road. Street parking only. Call in advance to reserve a space. I was personally not impressed. No lobby or greeting area. No coffee machine, water dispenser or snack machine. Stairs everywhere. Not good for elderly people or people with locomotion problems. The room was large, linens were clean. Huge bathroom, big corner bathtub but no shower facility. No curtain. I had an issue at 1:00am a bright white flash of light from the ceiling. It happened on 2 occasions when I moved in the dark. I strongly suspect video monitoring. There is also a motion sensor in the bathroom although the lights did not turn off when you stayed for over 10 minutes. Again, a camera? Breakfast was ok but strongly based on meat and protein. No fruits, no juice. Coffee is the usual 100ml espresso. Be aware second cups of coffee are contra cost. Totally...

We stayed there for three nights and we enjoyed our stay a lot! The personnel in the hotel and in the restaurant are very kind and helpful in any respect. We had a reservation for two rooms and when we got there the receptionist was kind enough to give us a room for the children and an apartment for the grown-ups located on the same floor with no extra charges. The rooms are large and clean and there is A/C so you can enjoy a nice sleeping environment. Although there is no breakfast buffet and the servings are not very generous, you can still make changes within the price range or you can order extra a la carte. We booked late stating that we had four dogs. We arrived at 2100. There is life around then and places to eat but it is not so central.||It is easy to find, a modern building right on the main road. There is secure parking next to the terraced area.||Lovely reception staff with practically no English. Easy check in. ||Room on fourth floor, up stairs, with dogs!||It was a suite!
