Despicable service at high standard price! Watch out for misleading information from the reception in regards to room prices and air conditioning repairs. We had a family event at the beginning of August and had several rooms booked up. Usually, the bill is settled at the end of your stay however due to “someone not paying the bill at exit” they charged us at entry without the discount agreed initially as part of the event. The rooms were dated with air conditioning not working for / days we’ve stayed there. It was basically an oven despite several attempts to repair it . In fact, after notifying the stiff repeatedly, they came to try and repair the AC even on the day we had the family event in our apartment. That was an unsuccessful attempt and we had to ask them to leave so we can carry in with the event. We did not have anyone trying to sort out the situation nor apologies either. Furthermore, after checking our we were asked to pay for the few drinks in the fridges which were consumed as a refresher. Not even. water and fresh linen and towels were provided for the whole stay. We were very ashamed for our guesses whom traveled from different cog tried for the event. It’s a shame for the view of the Danube and location of the hotel Faleza! Definitely not...
Read moreThis is my umpteenth stay at Faleza Hotel in Galati. The name comes from the boardwalk (faleza) by the Danube, which is literally a few meters in front of the hotel. The general location is very close to the central pedestrian park, with half the rooms facing the quiet Danube.||||Having tested more hotels in this city, I like how consistent Faleza is in the hard product. You always get a spacious, clean room, a proper bathroom with bathtub and movable-handle shower, basic toiletries in individual packs, and high-speed internet. ||||Another reason to choose it is the restaurant (ground floor, second entrance) called Union Jack which is open late into the night with good food (when there’s not much else available).||||Is it a luxury hotel? No. But most rooms are very modern, with wide beds and proper bedding (very good mattresses), and if yours opens on the Danube, some superb views. ||||Where could they improve: breakfast; it currently has a few meat and veg options, coffee, some juice and breads, and 1-2 spreads, all in relatively small quantities. It could do better. Otherwise, it attains expectations and is a place that I’ll come back to...
Read moreNot quite the stay that my husband and I were hoping for. ||We have stayed there at the end of September and even though we booked a business room, and hoping for the lovely views some reviews describe, we got the back of the hotel and the blocks of flats around it. ||The room was were poorly maintained, wall paper was pealing off the bathroom walls, cleanliness not so great, poorly lit room ( mirror had no light near it ), very noisy as the bar downstairs was playing load music well into the night, around 12am I had to call reception to ask them to stop it, customer service was atrocious, all questions were answered with " I don't know", including about the town Galati. As we were attending a function, we asked for a iron and "obviously" that was to much to ask, as they do not have any on the premises, and were not even able to advise where we can purchase on from ( never in my travelling experience, and I do a bit of travel around the world, a hotel was not capable of offering an iron ). ||Not to forget, the breakfast was the worst I have ever had. ||Would not recommend and would not...
