Phoenix — Hotel in Oradea Metropolitan Area

Small B&B, quite close to the city center, in very calm residential area. Couple parking spots (free of any charges) available in the closed area, parking on the street in front of the guesthouse is also possible (no fees). Whole neighborhood seems to be very calm so we weren't afraid to leave the car outside of the gates.

Room was a bit old schooled, bathroom very tiny, but still, price was very low, so I wouldn't expect any luxurious interiors. Sheets and towels were clean, soap provided. Hairdryer is not available in the room, but I believe it's delivered by the owners on demand. Air condition worked very well, that's quite important as romanian summer might be very hot. Fridge in the room.

This B&B provides good breakfasts, warm and cold dishes, made of local and seasonal ingredients. Good coffee, tea, honey, very good jams (seemed homemade), some hams, salami etc., cheese, hard boiled eggs (no scrambled eggs though, if you are a fan of these), cereals etc., typical breakfast buffet. Moreover things like french toasts, fried zucchini, some local mayo salads, seasonal fresh fruits.

Staff is super friendly, we wereprovided with a map of Oradea during our check-in process, some tips where to eat and sightsee, what to do in the city. That was very helpful. Payment in cash is preferred (€ or local currency).

Locația este excelenta pentru orice ai vrea sa faci: este aproape de Aquapark, de cetate, de centrul vechi. Se ajunge foarte usor la centrele comerciale, iar zona este extrem de linistita (fara claxoane, zgomot de masini sau de tramvaie). Iar daca vii cu masina sunt suficiente locuri de parcare chiar in fata pensiunii. Camerele sunt foarte primitoare si confortabile. Sunt luminoase si exact ce iti trebuie pentru un concediu relaxant sau chiar si pentru o noapte odihnitoare de tranzit: patul este mare si dormi foarte bine pe el, dulapul încăpător, ventilatoare si aere condiționate (dupa preferinta fiecăruia), televizor in fiecare cameră, ferestre largi ca sa se aeriseasca usor, dar prevăzute cu draperii blackout ca sa nu te deranjeze lumina. Baile sunt bine organizate, cu sapun si gel de duș, iar apa calda este disponibilă la orice ora. Lenjeriile si prosoapele sunt foarte curate, parfumate si mereu schimbate la timp. Exista posibilitatea de mic-dejun dimineata, cu mancare foarte buna, dar spre deosebire de alte locatii, aici nu te obliga sa te trezesti cu noaptea in cap ca sa mai poti "prinde" ceva, servindu-se chiar pana la ora 11-12 cu aceeasi buna dispozitie si amabilitate ca la ora 6.30. Curtea este spatioasa, are gratar, masa cu scaune unde se poate mânca, savura cafeaua sau chiar o mica palincă tradiționala. Gazdele sunt niste oameni extraordinari, ospitalieri, sociabili, mereu veseli, dispusi sa te ajute la orice ora si cu orice ai nevoie: informatii despre atractii turistice sau tururi ghidate, cele mai bune rute pentru a ajunge undeva (ca drumul spre casa), recomandări de terase, restaurante, zone cu locuri de parcare disponibile sau de ce nu, o discuție prietenoasă la un suc până seara târziu. This B&B has a good location (maybe 5-10 mins to the fortress, ~15 Min along the river to the city center), free parking on the street in a quiet (and we think safe) neighborhood. Very friendly owners, solid rooms.||Only CON from our side: No air condition and - this combination might be a problem for some people - you can´t fully open the windows (only tipping). Try to get a room with a balcony, then this isn´t a problem.||Of course some small things could be improved (more lamps in the room...), but it is a low budget B&B and a very fair deal. We would definitely stay...
