staff was helpful and nice it was close to a supermarket the outside of the hotel looks good the hairdryer worked decently
poor light in the room and there is like a dim light always on so you can never have complete darkness in the room. the lamps near the bed don't work and the main light switch was near the door. the toilet leaked from behind so, after a while water was starting to build up in front of the sink (the toilet is close to the sink) and if both people in the room took a shower, a puddle would for (see pics) breakfast is really bad: 1 type of ham, 1 type of cheese, poor omelette and the bread was not fresh. Basically if you are a vegetarian...well though luck. on Saturday, at 09:00 PM, when I needed to sleep there was a party with loud music that lasted until ~01:00 AM the rooms look terrible, lucky it was cold outside because there was not air-conditioning in the room in 1 of the evenings there was no hot water so I had to wash with freezing cold water. they cleaned our room on the first day but not on the second.
I would not rate it more than 2* and a fair price for 1 night, from my point of view, would be around 100-120 lei, not 200 lei like they charge. At around 250 lei per night you can find way better options with none of the issues mentioned above.
PS: Don't forget to bring slippers...
Read moreHotel is well positioned, close to bus-tram and uni. It looks like an old but well maintained 4star hotel that, regrettably, may go soon out of business (sadly there is not much tourism in the city.. a town that still has much left from its Austro-Hungarian time and even Roman...). Internet speed OK (second floor corner room n.207). Batroom matches 4-star ht standards, though perhaps a bit small, with shower-triangular bathtub (hydro massage doesn't work), towels, etc all included. Paid 37 euros for 1 night and got an old suite (2 large rooms with vestibule, 2 tvs, minibar (noisy and empty), armchairs, beauty desk, desk, and an extra double bed (my guess is that it got fitted in the living room later in the days). All clean and well tempered but with a little smell coming off the bathroom pipes (longntimenouse..ah, ah..). Continental breakfast included with cappuccino and espresso machine (not too bad). Staff was polite and helpful. Taxi from and to airport was 12 euros (night) and 7ish the next morning. Would rebook if given same price but less...
Read moreThe rooms were clean. Not necessarily the most modern but definitely appropriate. The entire feel of the hotel was nice, with a classical approach to design (classical looking paintings, wallpapers). The bathroom needed a bit of restoration but it wasn’t that bad. The toilet seat was a bit small for the toilet itself. The room had A/C, a TV, a minifridge and the beds were very comfy (we slept really nice). Due to a short circuit, overnight the A/C and TV stopped and did not power back on until we checked out but the person at the reception was very nice about compensating that with a late breakfast. We went to eat past 10AM which is up until when breakfast is served, so he spoke to the kitchen staff and they prepared a very nice breakfast with a delicious omlette (whereas, if we would have come in due time for it, it would have been an open buffet). The receptionist was very customer oriented which we highly...
