Kronwell Brașov Hotel — Hotel in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at The Kronwell. What a gem! When we checked in and arrived to our room, we realized we needed a slight adjustment to the sleeping arrangements (our fault as we did not make the request at time of booking). The front desk was super attentive and instead of making the adjustments, they moved us to another room a few doors away that was significantly larger. The new room was lovely and fully appointed with all the little luxuries you hope to find when you stay at a hotel (bathrobes, slippers, complimentary water bottles, tea/coffee, refrigerator/mini bar, vanity kit & toiletries, etc) Soon it was time for dinner, and concierge arranged reservations and complimentary hotel shuttle to a fabulous Romanian restaurant in Old Town. The meal was amazing and 1000% on-point. We slept like babies in the very comfy room. Breakfast buffet the next morning was also A+ with the hot spread (scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, other hot dishes I can’t recall, fresh bread and pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, various salads and side dishes, cold cut and cheese assortment, fresh juices, cappuccino/specialty coffees, etc.). Not only was breakfast amazing, but the staff even wrapped up for takeaway some sandwiches we made for our kids (you know how kids eat two bites, say they’re full, and then complain they’re hungry 30 minutes later…)

The only negatives I would say are that the hotel is a few minutes away by car to Piata Sfatului (old town) and perhaps too far/busy boulevard to really walk to Old Town. Also the lighting in the rooms are quite dark and might be problematic for anyone on business travel needing to do work from their hotel room or for elderly with vision impairment. Neither of these were problematic for my family, so doesn’t...

What truly sets Kronwell Hotel apart, however, is the exemplary service provided by the staff. Whether it's the attentive and friendly team at the reception or the exceptional service at the restaurant, every interaction has been a delight. The culinary experience at the hotel deserves a special mention. The food is simply outstanding, with every meal feeling like a gourmet feast. The attention to detail and the quality of the dishes served are commendable.

A personal experience that I must highlight is the hotel's thoughtful accommodation of my fasting needs. I informed the receptionist about my requirement for an early breakfast, and the response was incredible. The next morning, I was greeted with a lavish spread delivered to my room, replete with a variety of options that far exceeded my expectations. The portion was generous, and the selection was diverse, reminiscent of a hearty meal one would have at home. It was a gesture that deeply touched me and exemplified the hotel's commitment to going above and beyond for their guests.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Kronwell Hotel for making both my stays memorable. It's rare to find a hotel that combines luxury with such a personalized touch, and Kronwell Hotel does it with elegance and grace. This hotel exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, alone or with your significant other, this is the place to be.

It starts when you arrive by car. The hotel is easily accessible and has its own secure parking which is included in your stay. Upon entry you're great by staff that is fuss free, formal yet very friendly and accommodating.

The rooms are a perfect representation of their online pictures: massive, modern and comfortable (I especially adored the pillows and blankets... So soft!). They really give you a feeling of luxury. Don't worry about the showers that seem to offer no privacy in the pictures. In real life you can close them off with panels.

We had lovely cocktails at the bar and then had a very enjoyable meal in their restaurant. It's very reasonable according to European standards but more steep compared to Romanian fares.

The absolute cherry on top is the breakfast. I don't think I have ever seen a more complete, elaborate, neat and tasty breakfast buffet before. If you felt something was lacking or you wanted something else, the staff would try their best to get it for you (for example a special layered coffee or hot chocolate). Everything on the buffet also looked and tasted extremely fresh. I adored starting the day with a mimosa, feeling ever so slightly decadent but absolutely spoiled by this hotel and its friendly staff.

P.S. We very much appreciated being treated kindly and respectfully despite our young appearances (29 and 31) and our travel-worn looks from our road trip. Big thumbs up for the staff for staying professional and friendly at all times! We got a five...
