Stayed 4 nights late Oct 2019, in a small but cozy room on the 4th floor. Clearly hotel is recently renovated, and has a touch of old classic style. Room had amenities that are needed, plus more. ||||What really stands out in this hotel is the staff and the restaurant. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, one really feels their pleasant atmosphere during the stay.||||Really nice touch is the unlimited access to the great coffee machine, or good selection of teas. Only had breakfast on one occasion, but it was more than sufficient array of buffet choice one needs.||||The in-house restaurant was the best we have experienced in a while, at absolute great prices for Russian restaurant standards. The ambiance of the place was just perfect. ||The in-house made cheese platter was a highlight, with the waiter service and guidance being exceptional. Food was full of flavor, well portioned, and complimented the wines we tried superbly. ||My understanding is that the restaurant is relatively newly opened, and if such standards are kept, will no doubt become a jewel in Irkutsk's culinary circle. ||(Menu was only in Russian, which I am sure the hotel will see to being translated)||||It is really a pleasant thought to know that next time we visit Irkutsk we will visit again. If only for the restaurant if we're passing through.||||Extremely centrally located, just off the busy roads, we could not be...

On arrival I was also offered the possibility to pour myself a glass of homemade 'Krambambula', the national drink of Belarus, consisting of vodka with honey and spices.||||The room was delibarately furnished in an old fashioned way with the museal telephone topping it all. It had all one needs, the bed had a good mattress, there was a writing desk, an empty fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, a big enough wardrobe and a good bathroom. Not too exciting was the view out of my room, although I was in the third, the top floor.||||Breakfast, which starts at 7am, consists of a very rich buffet, and there is even sparkling wine available. During my two nights here I also had twice dinner here, since I was convinced by the Sibirian specialities on offer. So I got to try several dishes with local fish like 'Omul' and 'Sig', either as a Sagudai, a Tartare or Ceviche (all of them with raw fish), but also grilled.||||On top of all the hotel has an ideal location in a quiet street not far from the circus and in walking distance to all the...
