Boutique Hotel Renaissance — Hotel in Murmansk

After friend of mine recommended this hotel, I booked it without thinking. My first choice was Azimut, but their system didn't let me confirm my reservation using US issued credit card, and their customer service sucks big time, so I ended up here and I am very happy I did. Even before I got there I was pleasantly surprised how responsive the staff was. Thank you so much for this great experience!||||I booked a Standard Double room as I prefer a bigger bed for myself. The room size was just enough for me, but could of been too small for two people. The room had everything I needed for comfortable stay - the mattress was pretty comfy and the linens were clean and fresh. I liked heated floors in the bathroom and in the room itself even though I didn't use it much. TV was great, but some channels had weaker signal. WiFi throughout the property worked great. Very strong signal with zero issues! Noise cancellation wasn't that great. I could clearly hear neighbors from rooms on each side of mine as well as closing doors in the hallway. I would assume it's the nature of buildings down there. Not an issue as I still was able to had a good night rest.||||The shower was great. While traveling around the world I always have concerns about water pressure. The water pressure was great there, probably the strongest I've experienced for a very long time. However, using shower was a bit tricky. The water was either extremely hot or extremely cold, and just a little tiny adjustment made a huge difference in water temperature. Once the temperature was set up, it adjusted itself few minutes later usually to a much cooler temperature which was unexpected at first. By the end of my weekly stay I learned the system and knew what to expect. The hair dryer in the bathroom had a very short cord and worked no more than few minutes at the time. After that it automatically turned down, I had to wait about 5-10 minutes for it to start working again. I tried to use it half an hour after I took a shower with the same results. Honestly, not a big deal unless you are running late and each minute counts.||||I want to mention the cleanness of the room itself. Cleaning ladies are doing an amazing job keeping this place so neat! For the room service I had to leave the sign on the door which was somewhat unusual, but I was informed about it upfront which I really appreciate. No signs asking for service = no service.||||Maria at the front desk was the one who checked me in. It was a pleasure communicating with her and other ladies at the reception throughout my stay. Very positive, open, and polite people so as all other employees at this amazing hotel.||||My rate included breakfast. I am not a breakfast person and normally don't eat much, but was pleasantly surprised with the selection they had to offer each morning. Buffet style table had cold cuts, fish, cheese, bread, hard boiled eggs, homemade pastries, yogurt, and milked based oatmeal (very tasty one!). The hot selection included crepes, omelette, and fried eggs. There were also three choices of tea, coffee, juices, milk, water, and some bottles of alcohol. Restaurant employees were always very polite and respectful!||||Overall I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel location is great and very close to the city center. I was able to run my errands and return to the hotel in no time for a short break. The bus stop is located right across from the hotel which is super convenient. A short 5 minute walk is needed for other public transit options running through the main street. It looks like the majority of rooms are located on the first floor - easy access with no need to wait for elevation and long walks.||||Next time I am visiting Murmanks, I am returning to this hotel without a doubt! I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and had a mixed experience. The location of the hotel is great, as it is close to downtown. Additionally, there are good restaurants and cafes within the same block, making it convenient for dining options. Furthermore, there is a big supermarket just around the corner, which was very convenient for any necessary purchases.

The room size was adequate for two people with the spacious bathroom. One important note is that there is no elevator in the hotel. If you are traveling with elderly or have large luggage, it is recommended to request a ground floor room for convenience.

Unfortunately, the downside of my stay was the unhelpful and non-English speaking staff. They consistently provided service with an attitude and were unable to effectively communicate. However, I must mention that we did encounter one nice receptionist during check-in, but the rest of the staff was disappointing.

The food at the hotel was quite repetitive throughout the entire stay. The breakfast was basic and only served to fill your stomach, so it's best not to expect anything exceptional in terms of variety or quality.

However, one positive aspect of the hotel was its cleanliness.

In conclusion, while the hotel's location, nearby amenities, and spacious bathroom were positives, the unhelpful staff and lackluster food options were disappointing.

If you prioritize cleanliness and convenience, this hotel may still be worth considering, but be prepared for potential communication challenges and limited...

The decor of the room was stylish and comfortable. I fell in love with the bed. It was just perfect for my back and the pillow was just perfect for my neck. The whole feeling in the room was calm and comfortable. The bathroom had everything I needed and a nice touch with a basket full og toiletries was a big plus. The breakfast was simple and good. And the possibility of choosing pancakes or fried eggs was nice. The reconstruction of the road in front of the hotel is a bit ugly, but it does not harm the hotel in any way. If you are looking for a hotel with a charm and soul and not a chain hotel, this is the one. Amazing location in the middle of the town, with great possibilities around.
