Overall: Absolutely do not recommend. Especially if you are with infant. Find something else!
Pros : location in the downtown next to the most beautiful places and Central Park. Large rooms. Good cleaning. Baby crib was arranged in advance. Returned money very fast after cancellation.
Cons : absolutely unacceptable level of personnel qualification and hospitality. It’s really shame and I feel embarrassed for that because people coming from abroad seeing that terrible level of service in the heart of Russia. Unacceptable!! From the very beginning- no one met us and no one helped with luggage and we’ve been suggested to take our luggage via STAIRS ourselves to 2nd floor or using escalators which is kinda suicidal with heavy luggage. Same suggestion was for carrying the stroller 🤯. Room 921 had terrible old-smoke+urine smell, unbearably smelly WC, like in the Kursky train station WC. In 2021 Seriously? We’ve asked to change room but were rejected as they had no available rooms which was not true of course. They even had no idea about room upgrade to solve that stinky nightmare. Rude hostesses during checking in couldn’t manage anything, we’ve been waiting about 30 minutes with baby for checking in. Baby crib had no flat bottom and mattress was like on the ladder, fortunately we had our own portable baby crib. Mattress for adults bed was too flimsy and under my slim husband it just had failed and made a pit. So In the early morning we’ve escaped as fast...
Read moreVery rarely do places deserve a critical review, as most times, expectations outweigh reality. But, unfortunately this is an exception. ||||So below is a list of what is good about this place:||||Staff - exceptional||Location - exceptional||Security access - great||Fitness centre - good||Pool and sauna - small but good.||Breakfast - great.||||Now, the problems:||||Air-conditioning - it is false advertising to say they do. It quite simply is useless and doesn't work. The temperature in the rooms we were in was 28 - 30 degrees||Communal areas - hallways, atriums all very hot - no air-conditioning||No fridges in rooms except small room temperature mini-bar fridges||Restaurant near reception - very expensive but the service is terrible.||No kettle in the rooms? Why? It is Russia?||||And finally on the last day my wife stepped on something protruding from the floor near the bed. I discovered it was a wood staple that had dislodged itself from the rug under the bed (why would you staple the rug to the foor?) and was pointing directly vertical. I emailed them twice after our stay, with photos, but received no acknowledgment or reply....
Read moreThis is a very old place, lighted up with with very dim warm light to hide the problems and cleanliness issue! The check-in takes you about half an hour to one hour because of un-attentive front desk where ladies busy in gossiping than to serve customers! The security thinks they are protecting us from some known catastrophe that is likely to happen but they are just dressed up useless jerks! A kid around 2 years fell down on the escalator without any caretaker around, I alerted security to make a move and do something when I was trying to press red button on the escalator. This security didnt make a move and standing like he doesnt care about any of it at all!
The rooms are dirty and old. The king size bed has queen size comforters! The grouting in the toilets are long gone and visible fungus formation and hotel doesnt have ear for any of it.
Basically this is a way old ancient hotel, which was magnificent then and they are trying to encash it now using...
