We booked to stay at this place from a Sunday to Thursday in June. We ended up staying one night. On arrival the location is good, a short distance from the metro, Red Square, and close to bars and a club if that's your interest. The check in was easy, the staff pleasant enough. We could hear music throughout the property and asked if our room was quiet. When we were repeatedly reassured that it was, we paid for the rest of the stay. This was a big mistake. ||The room was a good size. Negative points; the wifi was undetectable, the curtain doesn't cover the window, the bathroom was badly made and the hot water could only be used for 15 minutes at a time. And it was not quiet, it was loud. Neither earplugs nor headphones blocked it out. At this point we returned to reception and told them we would be checking out the next day, explained why, and that we would like a full refund (we had prepaid the first night separately). We were told this would be ok and we would receive a full refund within two weeks. The music continued until 6.00 am. But I'm sensitive to noise so this is not why I'm giving this place one star. ||What followed is why I'm leaving my first negative review on tripadvisor. The next morning we checked again and were assured 2 weeks, full refund. We waited 14 working days and received nothing. I emailed, I heard nothing. I rang and was told they'd get back to me. I heard nothing. I emailed again and heard nothing. Eventually nearly a week later I got a Russian friend to ring again so there was no misunderstanding and was again told they'd get back to us. Eventually I heard back asking me to confirm card details that we had originally left at the hotel. Then we heard they would be taking one night’s fee as a penalty despite repeatedly promising a full refund. We sighed and told them do what you have to. 5 days later I had to chase up again. I had to confirm card details again and was told we would be refunded within 10 days. We waited 10 days, nothing. I followed up and was told they couldn't use that card as it used an IBAN number and to provide another card.||Eventually I had to send at least 10 emails, less than half of which received replies, ring twice, and finally received a refund minus the money for an extra night 6 weeks after our stay. The process was a unbelievable and extremely frustrating. I think they would just have kept our money if we hadn’t followed this so doggedly and I don't understand how a hotel can operate in this way.||So stay here if you don’t mind very loud music and bad quality bathrooms but never give them any money in advance. And don’t expect an easy journey if you...

Read moreFirstly the local area in under development when we went so lost of building noise during the working day, so not easy to get in or out but traffic in Moscow is madness anyhow.||||The Hotel is up one flight of stairs and you do need to carry your own bags. Building is no oil painting from the outside as it is based inside the old Red October Chocolate factory so not that flash to look at. The room was a bit sparse, no luggage rack or side tables for the bed, but the reception and inside is modernised and quite well done considering its age.||Service is very good. Lady there must have the patience of a saint as the fire alarm went faulty 7:45 one morning so she had to keep disabling the alarm for almost three hours, I am sure I would have put a axe through it before then.||||While the breakfast was late and cold the selection was ok, the cold food maybe partly due to the fire alarm issue.||||The bed was SOOOOOO hard, nice to sit on but made sleeping rather uncomfortable but people have differing opinions on mattresses but this one was not my cup of tea.||||All in all happy with the hotel and the service/price but was only there one night but would avoid weekends due to all the dance/night clubs in very...
