The suites are somewhat clean, but the sheets aren't replaced after each visit because they smell bad. This is my 2nd booking in the hotel & the problem happened in both visits. In addition, the staff, specifically the housekeepers and receptionists, are totally unprofessional and clearly illiterate in their profession. The housekeepers are unaware of the basic housekeeping items such as replacing empty tissue bins. Add to that, we found a bowl of fruit that we bought from the supermarket was eaten by them. And the receptionists are another story. Their behavior is anything but professional. We have seen them requesting and eating breakfast in the restaurant with the guests. Their communication style also reveals the level of their training as well as the level of strength of the higher management. I called them asking to be transferred to the housekeeping department. The conversation went like this literally:||Me: would you please transfer me to the housekeeping department ? I tried to call them but no body answered.||The receptionist: what do you want ? ( In a rude offensive way )||Me: I want to report something to them.||The receptionist : tell me what do you want ( with the same tune as before )||Me: ( I told him about my problem )||The receptionist : ............ ( Silence ) ......... Hmmmmm. I will tell them. Every room has a full kitchen as standard with the added bonus of a washing machine, making an extended stay easy. I would use the washing machine for your smalls and send out the rest, either with the hotel laundry service, or a much cheaper option is to take it to a local laundry that typically would charge SAR2 or SAR3 a shirt. The bathroom in the studio/King room is a good size for a hotel, clean and with a full width vanity, although the bathroom in the larger two queen beds/suite is smaller for some bizarre reason. All the rooms have very large windows that fill the entire wall which makes the rooms exceptionally light and airy, and very good and efficient air-conditioning in the ceiling space. There are windows that open (with bars across), although I would not need leave them open if you are going out in case there is a dust storm while your away. The downstairs reception area is very open, double floor mezzanine height with lots of glass; friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant/cafe is good with standard 4* hotel food, although I would suggest eating out at a good choice of restaurants/eateries across the road at the Al Rashid Mall. Unfortunately, my experience took a downturn during the checkout process. The ladies at the reception were unhelpful and seemed disinterested in assisting guests. Instead of addressing queries themselves, they insisted on referring everything to the manager, even for simple requests. This lack of knowledge and willingness to assist customers left a negative impression and made the checkout experience frustrating.
Overall, while the hotel offered clean and spacious rooms, along with a friendly receptionist during the night shift, the disappointing checkout experience with unhelpful reception staff prevents me from giving a higher rating.
